Wayne Brady said, "When I first found out that [my ex] Tina was pregnant, I was floored. It was not on my bingo card. A 51-year-old dad? I didn't see it coming. So was I happy? No. Because I was in shock."

Plenty of celebs love to keep fans updated when they're expecting, but others choose to keep their babies a total secret — at least for a little while.

Here are 14 celebs who kept their babies' birth secret and when they shared the news:

1. In the premiere episode of his reality series Wayne Brady: The Family Remix, Wayne Brady said, "My family is everything to me, but there are some things I've never told anybody outside of this immediate family. Like, I happen to have a 6-month-old son that people don't know about...Tina [Val Henry's mother] and I dated during the pandemic on and off, and then we broke up."

2. In a 2024 Instagram post, Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl revealed, "I've recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage. I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her."

3. Clint Eastwood reportedly did not know about his oldest child, Laurie Murray, whose birth mother put her up for adoption, until she began searching for her biological parents in her forties. Clint and Laurie became close after they connected, and they made their first public appearance together at the 2018 premiere of The Mule.

4. Mindy Kaling kept the birth of her third child private for four months. In a June 2024 Instagram post, she shared, "In late February I gave birth to my daughter, Anne. She’s the best birthday present I could’ve ever imagined."

5. In 2018, a source speaking to Page Six alleged that Adam Driver and his wife, Joanne Tucker, had secretly welcomed a son two years prior. Nearly a full year later, Adam told the New Yorker that keeping their son's birth private for two years had been "a military operation," and that the news leaked when his sister-in-law accidentally unprivated her Instagram account and people spotted the back of his child's head in one of her posts.

6. In 2016, Scott Patterson revealed that his Gilmore Girls costar Alexis Bledel and her then-husband, Vincent Kartheiser, had welcomed a child, telling Glamour, "She's really blossomed as a woman and now she's a proud new mother and married and happy... We're comparing notes because my son is about a year and a half older than her young son."

7. In 2020, Jessica Chastain and her husband, Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo, sparked speculation they'd welcomed their second child when paparazzi filmed them walking with their daughter Giulietta and a baby. Two years later, Jessica seemingly confirmed she was a mother of two in her sweet Oscars acceptance speech.

8. Samira Wiley and Lauren Morelli kept the birth of their first child secret for a month. In a 2021 Instagram post celebrating mother's day, Samira said, "Happy 1st Mother’s Day to my beautiful wife, who four weeks ago today after laboring for almost 3 days gave birth to our first child—our gorgeous daughter, George."

9. Olivia Munn and John Mulaney announced the birth of Méi June Mulaney, their second child, eight days after welcoming her via surrogate.

10. In December 2019, Iggy Azalea was at the center of pregnancy speculation, especially when she stopped posting to Instagram. However, she kept quiet on the subject until June 2020. In an Instagram Story post, she said, "I have a son. I kept waiting for the right time to say something but it feels like the more time passes the more I realize I'm always going to feel anxious to share news that giant with the world."

11. In the 2018 diss track "The Story of Adidon," Pusha T accused Drake of hiding a son with the lyrics, "You are hiding a child, let that boy come home / Deadbeat mothafucka playin' border patrol, ooh / Adonis is your son." A month later, Drake confirmed the speculation he had a son on his track "Emotionless."

12. In 2022, Amy Schumer revealed that her Life & Beth costar Michael Cera and his wife Nadine had welcomed a baby, telling Entertainment Tonight, "Michael has a baby, too. Is that public knowledge?...I just outed him, I just outed his baby."
