With both inflation and global warming on the rise, a lot of us are becoming more conscious of our consumption. However, it can be frustrating to watch some people — mostly wealthier people — act pretty entitled and be wasteful.

Here are 15 times rich celebs were infuriatingly wasteful:

However, commenters weren't so impressed, with many calling the couple out for wasting so much food.

2. In a 2023 TikTok video, influencer Alix Earle showed off how much food she ordered for only two people after a night out.

In the comments, fans criticized her for casually wasting so much food.

She claimed that she "usually" ate it all.

3. In 2024, Channing Tatum told GQ, "I hate doing laundry. Like, I hate it more than I can possibly say. I had one year that I called 'the year of the fresh white T,' and I don't think I did laundry all year that year, and I just wore white T-shirts that I just bought. I'd [look at a shirt and] be like, 'I can get like two wears out of this a week. This is gonna be good.' The year of the fresh white T — '99 or 2000. It's a beautiful year."

4. During a 2017 episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Khloé Kardashian got Kim to help her clean out her closet. Khloé seemingly decided to get rid of a certain dress because she'd "already worn" it.

The moment lead to criticism from viewers on social media.

5. During the pandemic-related toilet paper shortage in 2020, Khloé Kardashian TP'ed her sister Kourtney's mansion as a prank. In an Instagram story video, Kourtney said, "So I haven't had this much excitement in month...This is what Mason [her son] and Koko do when they have a sleepover." She also said the prank was "actually genius." Fans criticized Khloé for pulling the wasteful prank and Kourtney for sharing it as a silly little anecdote.

6. In a since-deleted tweet from 2019, Chrissy Teigen joked about how her mother treated AirPods — which were $159 a pair at the time — as "disposible."

Her followers were quick to point out how "out of touch" the joke came across.

Chrissy followed up with an apology.

7. In 2023, Kim Kardashian shared a tour of her "winter wonderland" Christmas decorations — a snow-covered pine forest on her southern California property — on Instagram.

In the comments, some people called out the "wasteful" display.

8. In a jokey 2023 Instagram video, JoJo Siwa poured milk all over her counter, pretending she'd forgotten she was fixing a bowl of cereal while daydreaming. In the caption, she wrote, "POV me trying to do anything but all I can think about is @mileycyrus new Flowers Music video…."

In the comments, fans called her out for wasting food.

According to Korea JoongAng Daily, in 2022, amidst a nationwide drought in South Korea, PSY announced the return of his "Water Show" — a popular summertime concert series that douses attendees with water — leading to criticism from fans. One promotional tagline read, "So much water that it will make you wonder if we scooped up the Han River." The singer reportedly told Radio Star, "It's all drinkable water. We spend a lot to buy all that water. Each concert requires about 300 tons. We use the performance venue's water supplies as well as sprinkler trucks."

According to the LA Times, amidst a "historic" drought in California in 2015, Tom Selleck was accused of stealing water from a public fire hydrant in a district he didn't live in to use on his ranch in Hidden Valley. The Calleguas Municipal Water District hired a private investigator, who found a white truck repeatedly taking water from the fire hydrant then delivering it to the actor's property. The organization's resources manager, Eric Bergh, said, "Our 630,000 customers are ripping out their lawns, drastically cutting back on the water they use. The water that we have secured for them, that they have paid for, should remain in district boundaries."

11. Kim Kardashian was also called out for wasting water during a drought. According to the LA Times, in 2022, the Las Virgenes Municipal Water District issued "notices of exceedance" regarding water usage to over 2,000 residents, the reality star included. The notice pointed out that, since a drought emergency was declared at the end of 2021, she'd exceeded 150% of her allotted monthly water budget four times or more. For example, her house in Hidden Hills and the adjacent lot went over their June water allotment by 232,000 gallons combined.

12. Per the LA Times, Kourtney Kardashian Barker received a similar "notice of exceedance" for her property near Calabasas, where she used 101,000 gallons more than her June water budget permitted.

13. Sylvester Stallone and Jennifer Flavin also received a notice for their $18-million Hidden Hills property in 2022. According to the LA Times, they reportedly used 195,000 excess gallons of water that May, then increased to 230,000 excess gallons in June.

In a statement, their lawyer, Marty Singer, said, "[The numbers could] mischaracterize and misrepresent the situation regarding the water usage at my client's property. They have more than 500 mature trees on the property, including innumerable fruit trees as well as pine trees. Absent adequate watering, in all likelihood they would die. That could result in dead or damaged trees falling on my client's property or neighboring properties. My client has been addressing the situation responsibly and proactively. They have let grasses die, and other areas are watered by a drip irrigation system. They also notified the city regarding the mature trees, and are awaiting an inspection and further instruction from the city about how to proceed. I am confident that all of the larger properties in the area have similar issues. I therefore trust that my client will not be unfairly singled out in the story because he is a famous person."

14. Per the LA Times, Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union received a notice of exceedance during the drought as well. In May 2022, their $18-million Hidden Hills property went over its water budget by more than any of their utility company's other customers — 489,000 gallons. In June, they cut back significantly, only exceeding their allotment by 90,000 gallons. For context, that was still a 1,400 percent exceedence. The couple blamed the overuse of water on an issue with their pool. In a statement, they said, "[We've] taken drastic steps to reduce water usage in accordance with the new city guidelines and have since we moved into our home.”

They continued, "We have been doing everything we can to rectify the situation and will continue to go to extensive lengths to resolve the issue. We have replaced all parts of our pool system that [have] to do with water flow and leakage in addition to converting to synthetic grass and drought tolerant plants to reduce our water usage. We will continue to work with the city and the water distribution company to make sure this isn't an issue moving forward."

15. And finally, in 2022, Kevin Hart also received a notice of exceedance. According to the LA Times, that June, his Calabasas residence went 117,000 gallons over the allotted water budget — that's 519%. The celebrities and other residents who received the notices faced the possibility of having flow restrictor devices installed on their properties.
