Somehow, we woke up this morning and our calendars say "November" across the top of them. Despite the fact that the year seems to be flying by as fast as ever, our editors have still found plenty of time to test out new beauty products. While last month's finds were pretty great, we have to admit: this month's latest launches might be even better.
As temperatures continue to dip, we've been on the hunt for hydrating body products that will keep our skin moisturized in even the coldest of weather, deodorants that will keep us feeling fresh underneath layers of clothes, and yummy fragrances that will garner tons of compliments at all of the mandatory holiday events.
We spritzed, sniffed, swatched, slathered, and sampled hundreds of products and are excited to share our favorites. Whether you're looking to swap out a few items in your skin-care routine to prepare for the colder months, searching for makeup that will keep you "merry" all season long, or if you just want to get a head start on your holiday shopping, we've got you covered. Keep reading to check out the best new launches in the makeup, skin care, body care, hair care, and fragrance categories that have landed a permanent spot on our beauty counters.
Best Face Moisturizer
Origins Youthtopia Plumping Apple Face Moisturizer with Peptides ($54)
"Aside from having a fun name, the Origins Youthtopia Moisturizer is loaded with benefits. As part of the brand's newest line, it harnesses the power of apples, fall's star fruit, to moisturize, plump, and strengthen skin. Who knew the doctor's favorite snack also boasts the ability to increase skin cell turnover, maintain moisture, and protect your skin with antioxidants?" — Jessica Harrington, senior editor, beauty
Best Lip Treatment
Sōm Skin Exosome Lip Serum ($138)
"I was recently introduced to exosomes in skin care, and I've become pretty obsessed. I've been using a serum on my face daily, but I was recently introduced to this exosome lip serum from Sōm Skin that has easily made its way into my daily routine. It leaves my mouth feeling hydrated, supple, and soft, and I really only need to apply it twice a day — in the morning and at night." — Renee Rodriguez, staff writer and social producer
Best Cleansing Milk
Oak Essentials Nourishing Cleansing Milk $45)
"There's nothing I love more than a hydrating, comforting cleanser that removes all of my makeup — stubborn mascara included — without making my eyes burn or leaving my skin feeling stripped. The Oak Essentials Nourishing Cleansing Milk checks every box for me, and it has a relaxing spa-like scent that transports me to somewhere far more luxurious than my cramped New York City bathroom." — JH
Best Overnight Mask
Omorovicza Soothing Salve ($125)
"As someone with sensitive, rosacea-prone skin, I'm always on the lookout for products that are soothing and skin-barrier strengthening. My latest go-to is this deeply hydrating cream mask from Omorovicza which can be used as a flash mask or an overnight treatment, which is my preference. I like to slather on a healthy layer of this stuff on my face and neck at bedtime — the brand's patented Healing Concentrate, a bio-fermented active ingredient made from minerals found in Turkish thermal baths, goes to work overnight to calm any irritation. Every time I use it I wake up with plump, even skin." — Aviel Kanter, director, branded content
"The Omorovicza Soothing Salve has been my savior for super dry skin the last month. I've been using it as an overnight treatment to help combat flakiness around my nose and mouth, and it's been the perfect remedy. Plus, it doesn't break out my acne-prone skin." — RR
Best Hydrating Serum
Abe & Mason Gassan Rejuvenating Serum ($185)
"This silky serum feels like a salve for my skin on its driest days. This newcomer brand's touchstone is its Dewa Blend, a trio of pine extract, wakame extract, and rice ferment that promote the natural healing cycle of the skin. Every time I use it my skin feels super nourished and plump." — AK
Best Hand Treatment
Orveda Youth Glove Protocol ($195)
"I'm not one to typically be impressed with a hand cream, but this is no average moisturizer. The Orveda Youth Glove Protocol is an entire hand-care system, complete with two treatment products and gloves. First, you apply one pump of the hand serum formulated with blue agave yeast extract and niacinamide, followed by two pumps of the hand cream. Finally, you slip on the reusable silicone gloves to allow the products to fully absorb and trap the heat from your hands. When I take the gloves off, my hands instantly feel noticeably smoother and softer." — JH
Best Lip Balm
Make Beauty Inner Tube Plumping Lip Treatment ($26)
"While I wouldn't say this treatment is all that plumping in terms of changing the size of your lips, I do think it's super hydrating, especially for chapped or sunburnt lips. It feels very pepperminty and cooling, and definitely helps smooth and add a little juice to dry lips. I also like to keep one next to my bed and put it on before going to sleep for an overnight treatment." — AK
"Ever since I started testing this lip treatment a few months ago, it's easily become one of my favorites. I haven't noticed a plumping effect, but it does leave my lips hydrated, smooth, and shiny. I keep it at my desk so I can reapply throughout the day, and I love how it makes my lips feel hours after application." — RR
Best Skin-Care Tool
Current Body LED Light Therapy Face Mask: Series 2 ($469)
"Current Body is known for its LED masks — the original is already an editor-favorite — but the Series 2 Mask has some really neat updates and innovations putting it ahead of its competitors. Mainly, it upgraded the light coverage with 236 LED bulbs that reach three clinically-recognized wavelengths, including new deep near-infrared. The shape of the mask itself has also been tweaked to better fit the face and provide full lip, chin, and nose coverage." — JH
Best Mascara
Charlotte Tilbury Exagger-eyes Volumizing and Curling Mascara ($29)
"As soon as I pulled the Charlotte Tilbury Exagger-Eyes Volumizing and Curling Mascara out of the tube, I knew I was going to love it. The stiff, curved brush grabs every single lash and coats it in the ultra-black, volumizing pigment. It stays all day long without smudging or giving me raccoon eyes, but at the end of the day, it comes off gently with my face cleanser and a little micellar water." — JH
Best Concealer
Westman Atelier Vital Skincare Brightening Concealer ($48)
"The last place I actually use this concealer is my undereyes; instead, I prefer to apply it like a lightweight foundation, thanks to its serum-like texture. I use the doe foot to apply a bunch of product to the back of my hand, and then use a damp sponge to blend it into the entirety of my face. It has a gorgeous, dewy finish, which is somewhat rare in other buildable concealers. Not to mention, it has skincare actives like hyaluronic acid and peptides to keep your skin underneath feeling smooth and hydrated." — AK
Best Lip Oil
Hard Candy Glosstopia Lip Slide in Espresso ($8)
"It's the season of espresso thanks to Sabrina Carpenter, the iconic martini, and this lip oil — for me, at least. Lip oils are my latest makeup obsession and this new shade from Hard Candy has found its way into my bag. It has a creamy, slick texture that leaves my lips looking so juicy. (And I may or may not sing Carpenter's 'Espresso' while applying it.)" — JH
Best Hand Wash
Hotel Lobby Candle Signature Hand Wash ($48)
"Ever since I added the Hotel Lobby Candle Signature Hand Wash to my bathroom, I swear my life is more put together — or at least it looks it. But how could it not be with the chic glass bottle? The brand is known for its iconic candles, but with this new launch, it's expanding into a whole new category — and it's bringing its sophisticated fragrances with it. I really love how long the scent lasts on my hands after washing." — JH
Best Deodorant
Salt and Stone Deodorant ($TK)
"Salt and Stone's deodorant is nothing new — it's gone viral plenty of times, and it's loved by influencers and editors alike. I had never fully understood what the hype was all about until I tried the brand's latest scent, Saffron and Cedar. It isn't too overpowering, but it still smells sweet and clean. Plus, it actually works, which, if you've ever smelled my armpits after a long workout, you'd know is no easy feat." —
RR
Best Holiday Candle
P.F. Candle Co Spruce Candle ($26)
"I love holiday candles; really, I wish it wasn't taboo to burn them year-round. P.F. Candle Co's new limited-edition holiday line features five cozy scents that are all wonderful, but the Spruce Candle takes the cake for me. It has a warm, earthy scent of snow powder, blue spruce, cedar wood, and citrus to create a unique aroma that feels Christmas-y without being too in-your-face." — JH
Best Candle Collaboration
Nette x Crown Affair Take Your Time Candle ($82)
"I'm calling it: This may just be the best candle collab of all time. If you've tried any of the Crown Affair hair products, you've likely already fallen in love with the brand's signature scent. Well, Nette has translated it seamlessly into a jumbo-sized candle. Light it and your home will smell like bergamot, yuzu, and fresh water lotus." — AK
Best Gourmand Perfume
Krigler Villa Isar 224 Perfume ($575)
"Krigler's Villa Isar 224 Perfume has delicious notes of honey, cocoa, almond, cream, licorice, caramel, vanilla, and tonka bean. It perfectly captures the coziness of a warm mug of hot cocoa after coming in off the snowy ski slopes. Unlike your typical gourmand, it feels elevated and down-right sexy." — JH
Best Woody Perfume
Jo Malone Hinoki & Cedarwood Cologne Intense ($160)
"Hinoki is one of my favorite scents, and this new Jo Malone cologne is chock-full of it. It smells like a crisp day in the forest — it was inspired by forest bathing around the hinoki trees in the Japanese wilderness. The hinoki wood clove in the fragrance is actually made from fallen branches from the trees, and hand-harvested by local artisans in its native Japanese village. It's super clean and woodsy, and instantly evokes the fall season." — AK
