The 2025 Golden Globe nominations are being announced, and all eyes are on this major milestone in the evolving awards season. Jon M. Chu’s musical blockbuster “Wicked” seems to be the kind of juggernaut the Globes have historically liked to honor — but remember, in 2023 the Hollywood Foreign Press Association disbanded, following Penske Media Eldridge’s purchase of the Globes, and an increase in voting membership improved the diversity of the body selecting the awards. (Penske Media Corporation also owns IndieWire.)
And so far, the awards season hasn’t rallied around any one consensus choice: The Gotham Awards gave Best Film to “A Different Man,” the New York Film Critics Circle to “The Brutalist,” and the LA Film Critics Circle gave it to “Anora.”
Here are the nominees for the 2025 Golden Globe Awards, to be updated live as they’re announced today, December 9, by Mindy Kaling and Morris Chestnut. The actual ceremony will air on CBS on January 5, with Nikki Glaser as host.
