50 Cent thinks that Eminem is going to be an amazing grandfather since he’s still at the forefront of pop culture.
Speaking to People after announcing his Las Vegas concert residency, Fif explained his reasoning for believing that Eminem’s going to be so good. “Oh man, he’ll be the greatest grandfather,” said Fif. “That grandkid is gonna say, ‘My granddaddy is still cool. My granddad is cool.'
Fif’s basically saying that not everyone’s grandparents are cool. Sure, they were when they were younger — but as the wheel of time turns, they might not be as in tune with what’s hot on the streets as they were years ago. Fif went on, explaining that Eminem’s not like that at all. He’s still hot. “He still didn’t lose his cool,” added Fif. “He’s still the biggest rap artist in the world.”
Fif wrapped up his touching message about Eminem by comparing him to his own grandparents based on how much he helped him. “I compared him to my grandparents only because my grandmother raised me,” Fif revealed. “I put Em in that space. When people help you when you can't help yourself, it resonates the strongest, and Em put me on. So he's my guy forever. I don't care.”
Earlier this month, Eminem revealed that his daughter, Hailie Jade, was pregnant. In the video that he dropped for “Temporary” on Oct. 3, Eminem gets gifted a blue jersey from his daughter that reads, “Grandpa 1” on the backside.
Fif attended Eminem’s daughter’s wedding and opened up about the emotional impact that it had on him last month.
"It was unbelievable, the wildest thing for me, period. I was like, 'Yo, bro, this is crazy. We’re getting old. Your baby is grown. What the fuck is going on?’" he said. "I was having a moment myself over there. I told Em, ‘You said it was OK to cry, because I’m crying.’ I couldn’t believe it went that fast.”
The experience made him wish he had a daughter himself. "I wish I had a daughter," he admitted. "I do. I wish I had a daughter. ... I wish I had that [father-daughter] relationship. For female children, their dad is the first man they fall in love with. Male children go to their mom; I’m a mama’s boy myself."
