A harrowing 911 call has been released following the abduction of a little girl by her father. Brace yourselves because this doesn’t have a happy ending…

Earlier this month, communities in Ohio were horrified to hear an Amber Alert had been put out for 7-year-old Oaklynn Alexander, according to WKYC. The young girl was taken from her grandma’s house by her non-custodial father, Charles Alexander, after he tried to pick her up from school multiple times and failed. But this is where things got intense…

A press release reported the Brunswick Division of Police spotted Alexander’s vehicle after its description was made public, but when they tried to stop him, he fled and started a car chase. Eventually, officers were able to deflate his tires and run him into a nearby parking lot in Medina Township. A 911 call was conducted between Medina County Police as they tried to calm down the father and negotiate with him.

In the call, he can be heard declaring he’s armed while he calmly tells his daughter she’ll be “going to heaven” soon:

“I will shoot us both, stand back!”

Horrible… While all this is going on, Oaklynn can be heard in the background begging her dad “please don’t” shoot her. He just seems to ignore her, though, as he asks to speak to the girl’s mom. He can be heard chillingly saying:

“I wanna talk to her mother … If you’re listening, Ashley, you should’ve called.”

The little girl shows immense bravery in the call.  As her dad is panicking, she’s able to keep a calm demeanor and ask him questions. When he makes the comment that they’re “both going to heaven” she asks:

“How do you know we’re going to heaven?”

He tells her they’ll “both go,” to which she responds:

“I am going to heaven? No!”

Oaklynn has started to cry at this point. Her dad tries to calm her down, telling her she’ll go to heave because she’s “a good person.” The poor little girl declares in panic:

“I don’t want to go to heaven today!”

Her dad says flatly:

“I didn’t want it to happen either, I just wanted to talk to your mother.”

Holy s**t…

The dispatcher on the phone with him is a saint throughout, as she tries her best to de-escalate the situation:

“Stay here. I know you didn’t want to hurt [your daughter] and you didn’t want it to be like this. Let’s not do anything we can’t undo.”

As negotiations wear on, Oaklynn grows increasingly upset, and keeps asking about “going to heaven” and repeatedly saying she’s “not going to die.” Heartbreaking. Just unimaginable. Another dispatcher then gets on the line and tries to help. She says:

“Just keep talking to her if you don’t want her to be scared. Let’s not do anything that is going to make it even more unfair to her, ‘cause you love her, I know you do.”

The incident came to an end with Oaklynn’s father facing off against the cops and being shot to death. The 7-year-old was returned to her family physically unharmed. We’re so glad he didn’t hurt her… but we fear she will be scarred by this forever.

We can’t imagine the trauma this little girl is facing. We hope she’s able to make a full recovery from this.
