While there are lots of new and upcoming phones vying for your hard-earned money, you can get some serious bang for your buck by buying a slightly older phone at a substantially discounted price. With that in mind, a renewed Pixel 8 Pro is an absolute steal at Amazon.
Although the late-2023 flagship phone has been surpassed by the Pixel 9 Pro and Pro XL, it remains an incredible package for anyone who values a smooth, clean software experience that will be updated long into the future. While my own personal choice for the best phone over the last 18 months was the OnePlus 12, the 8 Pro wasn’t too far behind.
Amazon currently has the 128GB variant of the Pixel 8 Pro for a staggeringly low $340 via the “Amazon Renewed” section, providing a whopping $650 discount over the Google Store, which still lists a new Pixel 8 Pro at $999 for the base model. This makes it a better deal than the Pixel 8a, which has been on sale at similar prices since launching in May 2024.
To put this pricing into context, sites like eBay and Swappa are barely touching that and don’t offer the same guarantees or return policies that you have with Amazon. If you don’t care for big phones, a renewed Pixel 8 is on sale for $299, which is a great price but not quite as much of a steal as the Pixel 8 Pro.
For many people, this could even be a better package than the base Pixel 9, which starts at $699. Sure, you’ll miss out on some of the AI-powered functions like Pixel Studio, Reimagine, and a few others, but for almost half the price, you get an incredible camera system, a bigger battery, and a stunning Super Actua display.
