Adele emotionally burst into tears when she saw Celine Dion during her Las Vegas residency as the music icon continues to battle stiff person syndrome, meaning the My Heart Will Go On vocalist struggles to sing.

The French-Canadian star suffers with muscle spasms as a symptom of the neurological disorder and also struggles to walk, resulting in her having to cancel her planned tour through Europe in 2022.

Adele cries to see Celine Dion at her Las Vegas show

Whilst she will never be cured from the condition, she is still able to walk and has gradually appeared in society slightly more often than since the initial diagnosis and prognosis, enough so that the 56-year-old could head to the Colosseum at Caesars Palace to watch the British singer.

Adele, who has sold over 72 million albums, was midway through When We Were Young when she spotted one of music's greatest icons sat in the executive boxes of the venue as she immediately began to cry.

The 36-year-old headed over to Dion and embraced her lovingly before walking away as the emotions also took over Dion too as she dabbed her own eyes at the end of the greeting between the powerful vocalists.

Adele and Dion's close relationship

This wasn't a happen-chance event by two strangers with mutual respect though, they have actually been close with each other since at least 2018 when the Brit was spotted at Dion's second residency in Las Vegas.

Of course, Dion is one of Adele's icons and they share a similar vocal range, as the Rolling in the Deep singer hailed her colleague as the "queen" and called her Vegas show the highlight of her life.

"Wasn't able to do all my shows," Dion later said via Instagram. "But was thrilled that Adele came to one of them... I love her so much!!"
