British singer Adele has revealed she's battling a painful ear infection that has left her temporarily deaf in one ear.

The Easy on Me hitmaker, 36, said on stage during one of her recent Las Vegas shows that she caught the "grim" infection via "rare water bacteria", describing it as the most painful thing she's ever experienced.

"I have an ear infection, which is pretty grim. I've never had one before. It's the most painful thing that's ever, ever happened to me," Adele said while on stage, per multiple media outlets.

"It was worse than childbirth. It's a rare water bacteria. It's very hard to treat."

Saying that she's on antibiotics, she added: "I wanted to chop my ear off a few times."

"I'm no longer in pain, which is great but I'm a bit deaf in my left ear."

She reportedly said that she picked up the "rare water bacteria" in Munich in August.
