Adele recently suffered an excruciatingly painful health issue — one that she called "the most painful thing that's ever, ever happened to me in my life."

The "Hello" singer, 36, told the audience at the Friday, October 25 show at her Las Vegas residency that she has been dealing with an ear infection so bad it's actually affected her hearing.

"I actually have an ear infection, which is pretty grim," the Grammy winner told the crowd as she sat at the piano.

"I've never had an ear infection before," she added, noting: "It is the most painful thing that's ever, ever happened to me in my life. It was worse than childbirth." (Adele, who recently became engaged to Rich Paul, shares 12-year-old son Angelo with ex Simon Konecki.)

Furthermore, Adele explained, the infection was caused by "a rare water bacteria … [that's] very hard to treat," she said. "So I was on the wrong antibiotics for a few days and they managed to give me one that started to work."

The "Someone Like You" singer quipped that even though she may have "wanted to chop my ear off a few times," she's "no longer in pain, which is great."

Still, there are lingering side effects.

"I'm a bit deaf in my left ear!" Adele told the audience.

Despite Adele's ear infection — and the temporary hearing loss — she not only went on to deliver multiple performances over the weekend, she even went viral after spotting Celine Dion in the crowd during her Saturday, October 26 show.

The iconic singers wept openly as they embraced, leading to a touching moment that left everyone in the audience — and on the internet — in awe. (Dion, for her part, has also suffered severe health issues over the years; she had to cancel her 2021 Vegas residency due to her stiff-person syndrome diagnosis.)
