Akademiks has come out against Elliott Wilson's suggestion that Drake and Future have resolved their issues.
On Saturday night, Ak got on his livestream and said he received news from "extremely credible" sources that claimed Drake and Future have not spoken on the phone, despite Wilson saying his sources told him otherwise earlier this week. According to Ak, Drake and Future haven't made any progress in their fractured friendship.
"Big shoutout to my man Elliott Wilson, but with all due respect, I've spoken to extremely credible sources on both sides, and Drake and Future has not been on the phone," Ak said. "So, not too sure who gave Elliott Wilson the authority to say this, but from what I hear that is not true, that is 100% cap. Now, I'm not gonna say Elliott Wilson is contorting or misrepresenting."
During an episode of The Bigger Picture podcast, Wilson claimed his sources have said the "Jumpman" duo have resolved their differences, which began in earnest with Future's collaborative album with Metro Boomin, which featured the Kendrick Lamar track "Like That."
"Drake and Future, [have] gotten on the phone and resolved their differences," Wilson said. "[I have it] on good authority, Drake and Future have at least gotten on the phone and resolved their differences."
He added, "I don't know what that means. Obviously, we saw Young Thug, from prison incarcerated, put out the energy of 'hey guys let's get it back going,'" he added. "So I think that helped the energy when Future reposted it. All I can really say is they got on the phone, and whatever seems to be the issue, they seem to come to a place of resolving that. Metro not included."
Speculation was that Young Thug had something to do with Drake and Future's alleged reunion as he asked Drake, Future and Metro Boomin to squash the beef for the sake of making great music.
