The Atlanta Braves have reportedly signed former All-Star first baseman Garrett Cooper, who split last season between the Red Sox and Cubs.
Robert Murray of FanSided wrote Sunday on his Twitter/X account that Cooper received an invitation to spring training along with his minor league contract:
Cooper split the 2024 season between the Chicago Cubs, Boston Red Sox and Baltimore Orioles, though he did not appear in a game for Baltimore.
An All-Star with the Marlins in 2021, Cooper is a career .265 hitter with 57 home runs and 233 RBIs across 517 games. He slashed .206/.267/.299 last season in 36 major league games for Chicago and Boston.
