Amazon Prime Gets Biggest AI Update of the Year: Check Details

In this high-rise AI technology era, it would be inaccurate if our content streaming services didn’t embrace machine learning or AI in their system. In this regard, one of the biggest content streaming platforms, Amazon Prime, has incorporated generative AI in their system and personalized the user experience. The company has improved and revamped its user interface with the new feature called ‘X-Ray Recaps’.

What are X-Ray Recaps?

X-Ray Recaps will allow users to recap their content if they have missed any part of their favorite shows. The feature will rewind and provide you the concise summary of the missed part of the episode, entire season, or even specific moments. The X-Ray Recap feature will in short will always keep you in the loop even if you missed any specific part of the serial and movie.

Adam Gray, Prime Video’s vice president of product explained about the AI feature and said, “With X-Ray Recaps, we’re directly addressing a common issue streaming customers face when they forget where they left off,” Gray said. “The feature is designed to provide memorable plot points and help viewers jump back into the story they love.”

There are several features of X-Ray Recap which make it a distinctive and profitable for user. The feature is able to deliver personalized response based on viewer’s progress within the show or movie. Additionally, it highlights synopsis, plot-points, and character explanation without revealing the future context of the content you are watching.

The feature works mainly on Amazon’s own generative AI service, named as Amazon Bedrock which is based on SageMaker technology by Amazon. The content provider platform uses these technology in order to analyze video content, their subtitles, character’s dialogue to create spoiler-free summaries.

How to Use X-Ray Recap Feature?

Using X-Ray Recap is easy. You just have to head to the Prime Video detail page and it will provide you the summary of the part you missed. In addition, you can also directly head during playback within the X-Ray experience. There’s also the flexibility of reviewing how much summary you want or wish to review.

Availability:

Right now the feature is available in beta for Fire TV users in the US. It is expected to be available on full throttle by the end of the year. After launch, the feature will be available to popular Amazon platforms, including MGM Studios Originals, including Daisy Jones and the Six, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, The Wheel of Time, and The Boys.
