American Pickers star Danielle Colby has thanked Mike Wolfe for his "epic" donation to her exhibition at the Stripping History Museum.
The two reality TV stars cohost the show on the History Channel. The program follows them as they scour the country for forgotten gems in junkyards and basements, and recycle and renovate them while meeting quirky characters along the way. The two often take to social media to share their love and support for each other.
Over the years Colby—who is also a burlesque dancer and an OnlyFans model—has acquired some of the most coveted pieces of burlesque and striptease history, which she is compiling for her space at the Stripping History Museum. This week, she posted to her Instagram account to share the poster Wolfe had given her, which she is adding to the collection.
Newsweek emailed spokespeople for Colby and Wolfe for comment outside of normal business hours.
"Gifts that pique my curiosity and allow my obsessive tendencies to run amok with exhaustive research are my absolute favorite! I'm so excited to hang this rare piece of Burly history in my Stripping History Museum," she wrote in the Instagram post, sharing a photo of herself standing alongside the poster.
"Thank you @americanpickers Thank you my awesome brother @mikewolfeamericanpicker for this epic donation of this (This Seasons Maddest Merriest Musical Comedy Lovely Adorable Gay DAWN! Gals and Gags, Legs and Laughs! there's nothing like a burlesque show, a lot of laughs a lot of thrills, and a blush or two! America's funniest comedians and the world's most beautiful girls! Adult entertainment") original poster!"
Colby told her followers that the poster was specifically made for racier venues during a time in history when there was a lot of back-and-forth on blue laws or moral codes. A blue law prohibits or restricts certain activities on specific days, such as a Sunday.
She added: "My guess is that this poster went against the blue law in whatever theater [it] found itself in and the artist had to go back in and pencil in bikini tops and G strings where they did not exist before. This was a pretty normal thing.
"I actually used to do this type of work in my father's photography studio. He learned it from his mother and father. It's the exact same technique that my grandparents used in their photography studio my father used in his and I used in mine before I became a part of American Pickers. These little things always fascinate me."
People took to the comments to praise Colby and share their appreciation for the work she does, with one person writing: "This is so cool. I can't wait to see your museum. Congratulations."
"Wow! It's amazing!!!!! I am so excited for the museum to open up. I am looking forward to all its glory and for strippers to finally be the main characters [sic] in hi(her)story," said another.
A third added: "Thanks for all you are doing to bring this history to the forefront. You're awesome!"
Colby and Wolfe have been co-hosting American Pickers together ever since Frank Fritz left at the end of Season 21. Fritz, who appeared on the program from 2010 to 2020, died on September 30 from the complications from a stroke while in hospice care. He was 60.
Fritz's health took a significant hit in 2022 after he had a stroke that left him in a wheelchair. He also had Crohn's disease—a chronic inflammatory bowel condition that affects the lining of the digestive tract—for several decades.
Wolfe previously had to reassure fans that Colby was still involved in the show after she was missing from a behind-the-scenes video. Twelve people were featured in a video that Wolfe previously shared on his social channels, ranging from other pickers and co-executive producers to production supervisors and a director of photography. Fans noticed that Wolfe's co-host Colby was missing.
"She still rocking with us," Wolfe said to one concerned commenter and wrote to others that she was back in the office.
