Amy Schumer tells a mother of a tall tale in the trailer for the Netflix comedy feature Kinda Pregnant.
Director Tyler Spindel’s movie is set to begin streaming Feb. 5. Kinda Pregnant centers on Lainy (Schumer), who wears a fake baby bump while feeling jealous of her best friend’s pregnancy and ends up meeting her perfect guy. Rounding out the cast are Jillian Bell, Will Forte, Damon Wayans Jr., Brianne Howey, Alex Moffat, Joel David Moore, Lizze Broadway, Urzila Carlson and Francis Benhamou.
“Did you ever tell, like, such a big lie, you don’t know how to get out of it?” Schumer asks in the trailer.
At a different point in the footage, Lainy’s friend, played by Carlson, warns her about the ruse. “How dare you walk around with that fake fucking belly?” Carlson says. “What if someone you know catches you with it?”
Spindel (The Out-Laws) helmed the film from a script by Schumer and Julie Paiva. Schumer produces alongside Adam Sandler, Tim Herlihy, Judit Maull, Kevin Grady and Eli Thomas for Happy Madison; Molly Sims for Something Happy Productions; and Alex Saks for Saks Picture Company.
Schumer’s previous feature credits include Unfrosted, Bros and I Feel Pretty, along with voice roles in IF and Trolls Band Together. She also appeared in such recent television projects as Only Murders in the Building, Life & Beth and Inside Amy Schumer.
Spindel previously directed the Netflix features Father of the Year, The Wrong Missy and The Out-Laws, in addition to the 2020 comedy special Rob Schneider: Asian Momma, Mexican Kids.
