Andy Cohen is speaking out about Jennifer Aydin’s recent outburst against the staff of Jersey Mike’s, including an 80-year-old woman who she deemed “slow.”
As the 47-year-old Real Housewives of New Jersey star continues to be called out on social media for her antics, which have been labeled as “disgusting” and “despicable,” the Watch What Happens Live host, 56, reacted to the drama on his radio show, admitting that Jennifer “melted down” while also reacting to Paige DeSorbo‘s split from Craig Conover, 25.
“Oh my God. Did you see that? That is what you will call … is the expression an unenforced foul or something, where you cause harm to yourself? Is that what that’s called?” he asked on the January 6 episode of SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live, via Radio Andy on Instagram. “[It’s an] unforced error. A self-inflicted wound.”
According to Andy, he feels that Jennifer should have taken a minute to consider the fallout before she shared her rant against the Jersey Mike’s employees — and a man she told she could “buy 10 times over” — on her Instagram Story.
“She melted down. And you know what? Before you hit ‘send’ on the post, take a beat and say, ‘How is it gonna land?’” he advised. “I was just like, ‘How are you going to cause so much trouble for yourself at Jersey Mike’s?’ It’s just, ‘How is this gonna land?’ How do you feel like this is gonna fly with the universe?”
Andy also agreed with his co-host, John Hill, who said that “being mean” doesn’t get anyone anywhere.
During her filmed rant, Jennifer not only called the staff “rude” as she filmed them, but she also declared herself a “f*cking celebrity” and bragged about her husband, Bill Aydin, 51, being a surgeon.
“My husband’s a medical doctor, okay? A**hole,” she told a fellow patron who wouldn’t allow her to place an order ahead of his.
“I am a f*cking celebrity, you a**hole! A**hole!” she yelled. “[I can] f*cking buy you 10 times over!”
Also on Monday’s episode of Andy Cohen Live, Andy admitted he was “very sad” to hear the news of Paige, 32, and Craig’s breakup.
“We were very sad to get the news about Paige and Craig, I have to say,” he began.
Looking back at the months leading up to their split, Andy recalled red flags as he spoke of their success as individuals.
“They are both in the middle of an incredible amount of success, and both of them, he’s just opened a restaurant in Charleston. He’s got this business. He’s got a store in Nashville. He’s got a place in Charleston, and then she is absolutely like, murdering it, killing it. Live tour,” he explained. “But I was at the Southern Charm premiere party. She wasn’t there at his place in New York. There have been a few events that she hasn’t, you know, she’s just so busy, and I just think the more and more that stuff starts to happen, you know, you worry that it causes a strain.”
“We still don’t totally know, have a reason, so more to come on that, but I was very sad about that,” he added. “Everybody loved them … They were really the first couple of Bravo. Everyone was rooting for them.”
