Angelina Jolie's Rumored Romance With British Rapper Akala Might Not Be So Secret Anymore

Wherever Angelina Jolie goes, British rapper Akala seems to turn up. Is it a coincidence or is there something more to their rumored romance? Well, it looks like they’ve been caught by the paparazzi during a trip to London. 

The Sun found them reportedly “on a string of secret dates” while were “holed up” for two nights at her hotel suite. “Angelina and Akala have been secretly spending nights together at her London hotel, The Corinthia,” a source revealed to the media outlet. “Angelina arrived at the hotel via the loading bay at around 8 p.m. on Wednesday before being joined by Akala at around 10 p.m. The pair spent Wednesday and Thursday night together inside the hotel and did not leave.”

The duo tried to keep their reported dalliance on the down low by “using separate cars and secret entrances.” The insider believes their relationship is officially the “real deal.” In early October, the musician was included in a carousel of images posted by her Atelier Jolie Instagram account. While they weren’t photographed together, Jolie and Akala are definitely in the same social circles. He was also seen at the 62nd New York Film Festival premiere of her film, Maria, on Sept. 29.

Still, People magazine sources are adamant that Jolie and the Brit are “not dating. They added, “She is friends with him and his partner, Chanelle, who was also there.” Chanelle Newman is Akala’s manager and is often seen traveling with him and Jolie so that possible situation could make things even more complicated if the romance rumors are true. There’s been no confirmation that Akala and Newman broke up or that Jolie and Akala are officially together — it just sounds messy right now. 

Jolie has been linked to him for over a year now, so it’s hard not to see that at least a strong friendship is happening here. Even the Daily Mail is confused with conflicting reports on their status. “They are seeing each other and hanging out regularly and Akala loves how fearless and independent she is,” one source insisted. “They were introduced through a charitable venture they were both supporting, and Angelina has been interested in learning more about his activism and loves his sister’s music.” A second insider swears they have “no romantic connection” between them.

Fans don’t know what to believe at this point, but Jolie and Akala certainly enjoy each other’s company — whether it is professional or personal… or a little bit of both. Jolie is going to keep us guessing at this point and keep her love life a mystery.
