Looking for a last-minute phone upgrade for Christmas? Well, Apple fans can bag themselves a free Nintendo Switch with their upgrade - if they're quick.

If you like the sound of bagging this mega freebie, it's being launched on Mobiles.co.uk for a limited time so you can grab a shiny new phone as well as a Nintendo Switch Lite with Animal Crossing included, perfect if you're looking for a gift for a friend - or just treat yourself.

The offer is included in Apple iPhone 16 devices at the moment and the plan is with iD Mobile. You'll have to pay a pretty steep £135 upfront cost with a £38.99 per month plan. With that, you'll get 150GB of data as well as unlimited data and texts through iD Mobile so you don't need to worry about running out of data or phone call allowance - depending on how much you use it, of course.

We reviewed both the iPhone 16 and almost gave it a full five stars. David Snelling, our tech editor said: "We remain pretty miffed about that 60Hz screen technology (please Apple, fix it on the iPhone 17) but that really is our only gripe this year. The iPhone 16 is no no-brainer for anyone looking to upgrade especially as it's one of the only devices that will get Apple Intelligence later this year.

"It features that bold new look, gets the Action and Camera Control buttons plus there's that stupendously fast A18 processor and upgraded rear cameras.

"The tougher design should also help keep it looking box-fresh for longer and it comes with Wi-Fi 7, eSIM technology for faster set-up (most UK networks now offer this service) and the latest iOS 18 operating system."

But that's not the only deal that you can grab. Mobiles.co.uk is handing out a load of other freebies including free Galaxy Buds3 with Galaxy S24 purchases or upgrades as well as Apple AirPods 4 with Apple iPhone 16 Pro Max upgrades. Our top pick would be for the Samsung Galaxy S24 which comes in at a £45 upfront cost and costing £33 a month.

We also reviewed the Samsung Galaxy S24. Tech editor David Snelling said: "What you do get are phones with a striking new look, plenty of power, decent cameras, long battery life and a bunch of smart upgrades aimed at making life a little easier.

"Thanks to something called Galaxy AI, the S24 can now translate calls in real-time, edit photos with a simple tap on the screen and search for things online by just circling an object in an image.

"Our main criticism is aimed at the processor tucked under the shell of these devices. Last year's S23 got Qualcomm's popular Snapdragon brain across the entire range. That's not the case in 2024 with the S24 now featuring Samsung's Exynos chip in the UK.Only the Ultra includes the beefier Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor which is a real shame - it also makes things pretty confusing for consumers as other countries get the Gen 3 on all models."

If you want to look elsewhere, Sky has some of the most affordable prices on the market - but be aware, these are also long 36-month contracts. They're dangling the iPhone 16 Pro Max from £38 a month, not counting the airtime plan. You can even find more deals that we have complied in the best iPhone 16 Pro deals right here.
