Ariana Grande shows deteriorating health after new images leave fans worried

Ariana Grande leaves fans worrying for her health as the iconic singer looked extremely gaunt during a red carpet appearance as she launches Wicked in Los Angeles and in the UK's capital, London.

The 31-year-old's cheeks were almost non-existent as she posed in a yellow dress whilst her sternum was visible on her chest and the entire bone structure of her shoulders could be spotted, leaving fans fearing she is battling malnourishment and lipoatrophy.

Grande also looked fatigue and tired, as though she doesn't have the energy she should be getting from regular meals, compared to those of her co-stars and even compared to past photos of the star, as fans express their concerns.

One user wrote via X.com, formerly Twitter, "Ariana looks very fragile and not in a good way."

A second added, "I know she has been slim all her life but seeing her now is worrying, she is so small."

Whilst a third commented, "I love Ariana and I don't think people should comment on other people's bodies at all, but there's no way you can look at her and not think she's not healthy."

Is the filming schedule to blame?

Malnutrition can cause a series of problems beyond just the loss of weight. For example, it can increase the risks of falling and can leave people immunocompromised, thus increasing the odds of infection.

On top of that, it can also create sores and can cause wound healing to take so long that it becomes medically concerning and can result in trips to ER and hospital for urgent professional treatment.

And both Grande and Cynthia Erivo, her co-star, hinted that the demanding and gruelling schedule of shooting Wicked may have caused them to be unable to look after their bodies as they should, for example when they both developed Covid-19.

"We only got sick once each," Grande told The New York Times. "But both were before some of the most important works of the whole movie.

"Mine was the week before Popular. I came to set with a mask on my final days of recovery to learn the hallway finale."

Erivo, meanwhile, said the SAG writer strike during 2023 offered the pair some crucial respite from the set of the film and said she was "grateful" after working herself to the bone.
