Armie Hammer Believes ‘the Worm Is Turning’ on His Career Cancellation: The Industry Now Thinks ‘Man, That Guy Got F—ed’

Armie Hammer‘s career resurgence may be coming sooner than many thought it would. In 2021, the “Social Network” star was accused of sexual assault by a number of women with whom he was engaging in extramarital affairs. A LAPD investigation was conducted at the time, but no official charges were filed and Hammer has consistently maintained that all of his relationships were consensual. Nonetheless, his representation at WME dropped him as a client and he has struggled to find acting work since, even at one point resorting to selling timeshares in the Cayman Islands.

However, after four years of laying low, Hammer is working on his big Hollywood comeback, having already shot a movie with William H. Macy and Thomas Jane called “Frontier Crucible.” He also recently revealed to Christina Pazsitzy and Tom Segura on the “Your Mom’s House” podcast that he might have more projects coming up.

"Terrifier 3," "I Saw the TV Glow," "Smile 2," "The Substance," and "Oddity"

'Love Me'

“The worm is turning right and it takes time,” Hammer said. “It’s slow, but generally now the conversation when my name comes up with people in the industry is, ‘Man, that guy got fucked,’ and that feels really good. It’s really encouraging.”

In addition to “Frontier Crucible,” Hammer shared that he has “two more movies coming up” and “a potential TV show” that he said the “head of a studio” personally signed off on him for. At this point, Hammer is even “turning jobs down.”

“My dance card’s getting pretty full,” he said. “That first job that I turned down after four years of this shit, I mean, it was the best feeling I’ve ever had.”

During the interview, Hammer also directly addressed the claims put forth against him, including cannibalism and misconstrued notions around his interest in BDSM. Pazistzy empathized with Hammer in this moment, as she felt people are entitled to like what they like sexually and situations like the one Hammer found himself in ultimately makes the community as a whole look bad.

“Like any community, there are people who are there for altruistic reasons and they enjoy it and they love it and they’re safe and they’re smart about it and they care about the people they’re engaging with and I think there are also unsavory characters who get attracted into that world like politics,” said Hammer to Pazistzy. “It’s like you have people who actually want to help — maybe two of them — and then the rest of them are not there for the right reasons and I think it gives it a bad name.”

Relating this back to his own situation, Hammer explained how he ultimately realized that in feeding his desires, he was most likely looking for a way to upend his life, as the one he’d been living did not match with who he truly was.

“I think somewhere deep down subconsciously I wanted to get caught. I think that I so did not relate to the image of me that was out there in the public of like, ‘Look at them, they’re like the Ralph Lauren family, they’ve got the perfect life and the perfect house and the perfect kids,'” Hammer said, adding, “I was like, I feel like a fucking alien walking around most of the time. I don’t feel like a human, I feel like a creature.”

Not only does Hammer have future screen projects to look forward to, but he also launched his own audio show last year called “The Armie HammerTime Podcast.”
