Asus has finally announced the Chromebook CR series in the global market. The series includes two laptops based on display size – 11.6-inch and 12.2-inch. Both devices bring Corning Gorilla Glass protection along with stylus support. As claimed by the brand, the laptops are specially crafted to meet the requirements of all K12 students. The laptops are made up of MIL-STD-810H military-grade durable and fingerprint-resistant builds.
Asus Chromebook CR series specifications and features
The Asus Chromebook CR11 comes with an 11.6-inch HD IPS non-AG touchscreen protected by Corning Gorilla Glass and 250 nits of peak brightness. You can also get an anti-glare version of the laptop and a non-AG variant with USI 2.0 Stylus support.
Apart from that, the Asus Chromebook CR12 ships with a 12.2-inch WUXGA display coupled with 300 nits of peak brightness Both the laptops offer Intel N150 and Intel N250 CPU options. They also bring 16GB LPDDR5 RAM along with up to 128GB eMMC internal storage and Intel UHD graphics. Both laptops will operate on the ChromeOS.
They also get a 13MP world-facing camera along with an FHD 1080p webcam. The users will also get to see an array of mics and built-in speakers in the devices for the audio outputs. Other features offered in the laptops are two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C ports, Two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, one HDMI port, and an audio jack. The 11-inch variant is powered by a 42Wh battery and the 12.2-inch variant brings a 50Wh battery along with a 45W USB Type-C adapter support. As of now, Asus has not revealed the pricing of the laptops for the market. Expectations are that we will soon get to see them in the market at justified prices.
