Austen Kroll Explains ‘Bad Blood’ With Southern Charm Alum JT Thomas

2 weeks ago 2

Enough happened on camera on Southern Charm Season 9 between Austen Kroll and JT Thomas that little explanation is needed as to why they have beef. Nonetheless, fans are interested in how it got so bad.

Luckily, the Trop Hop Beer founder is still on the show and ready to talk. Something just didn’t sit well between Austen and JT. A mutual dislike, that was seemingly exacerbated by Austen’s fling with Taylor Ann Green. Additionally, the Season 9 finale ended with a fight. Now, Season 10 premiered with little improvement between the duo.

Austen Kroll “doesn’t trust” JT Thomas after the “slander” from last season

Austen told People that he had to “be the bigger man — literally and metaphorically” and not be reactive to JT during the cast trip to the horse race in South Carolina.

“If you have to be around him, you’re old enough to know it’s just going to be awful, awful, awful. Every time that you see him, you just don’t want to punch him in the face. I am trying my hardest in the beginning to fight these [tendencies],” he continued.

The Pillows And Beer podcast cohost wasn’t sure how to deal with JT during the time they were filming Season 10.

“I’m trying to figure it out on the fly of what am I going to do? How am I going to be around this person?” Austen explained. “I don’t trust him as far as I can throw him, which actually I could probably throw him pretty far if we’re being honest. So that’s where my head is.”

Austen thinks JT needs to “face the music”

JT tried to make amends with Austen after a supposed near-death experience in Costa Rica. He distributed canes to the cast. Needless to say, Austen was underwhelmed.

“There’s still some bad blood on my end,” the Bravolebrity said. “You don’t just slander someone with horrible and awful things for as long as he did at the reunion and then expect it to all be cool.”

JT quit unexpectedly, and will not be filming the reunion. In Austen’s opinion, his rival does not want to be held accountable for his actions during the season.

“In the Bravo universe, there are like three certainties: there’s death, there’s taxes and there’s your f—ing reunion,” Austen said. “You go to your reunion, you face the music; you hopefully face it in a good enough manner so you can clean slate it and move on. It’s very apparent to me that he doesn’t want to have to face the music for all the things that you’re about to see on this upcoming season.”
