The director of the movie “Babygirl” has shared details about actress Nicole Kidman’s viral scene drinking milk.

In an interview with W Magazine, filmmaker Halina Reijn said a variation of the scene happened to her in real life.

The movie scene shows Kidman downing the milk at a holiday party for her company after it’s sent to her by an intern with whom she starts an affair. She plays a CEO in the film.

According to W, in real life, the situation happened to Reijn “after one such theater performance in her 30s, when she went to a local bar to burn off her post-show adrenaline.”

A ‘Famous Belgian Actor’ Sent Halina Reijn the Glass of Milk

According to W, Reijn was sent the glass of milk by a “famous Belgian actor” who is not named. He was younger than her and “sent her a glass of milk from across the bar,” the magazine noted.

“I drank it, and he just walked out,” she told W. “I thought, ‘How does this guy get the courage?’ I did think it was a very sensual thing to do. And I thought it was very funny.’”

According to W, Reijn is from the Netherlands.

Reijn also described how she was able to cast Kidman in the role.

“Nicole approached me about working together after seeing my first film, ‘Instinct.’ She read a very early draft of ‘Babygirl’ and immediately said, ‘I want to play that character,'” Reijn told W.

“She also said she wanted to surrender to it and not change a thing. That was important to me, because I knew I wrote something controversial and, at least for me, surrounded by shame. I needed someone to be as courageous as the script tries to be,” she added.

“Once Nicole was on board, I woke up totally panicked. We had one of the best actors in the world. It’s impossible to find a young man who’s not only as good as her, but can dominate her,” she said in the interview.

Harris Dickinson ended up cast in the role of the intern. Dickinson has posted the movie’s trailer on his Instagram page.

Dazed and Confused Magazine wrote on Instagram, “@harrisdickinson is a revelation in Babygirl, starring opposite Nicole Kidman in one of the most daring roles of her career, as a weirdly cocky intern embarking on a dangerous liaison with a CEO.”
