'Bachelorette' Star Apologizes Over Brett Eldredge Comment

2 weeks ago 2

The Bachelorette alum Kaitlyn Bristowe has apologized after revealing that she didn't find singer-songwriter Brett Eldredge attractive—but that has since completely changed when she saw him perform recently.

During the episode of her Off the Vine podcast published on December 26, Bristowe answered 73 different questions from her listeners. When asked how she defines beauty, she used how her attraction to the country singer has changed as an example.

"I define beauty in a lot of different ways. I define beauty—I'm going to give you a little example. I never thought Brett Eldredge was attractive," the former reality star said. "I'm so sorry if he hears this or this gets to him. I'm not saying he's unattractive. I just wasn't fully attracted to him. I love his music and last night I went to his Christmas concert, he was so vulnerable, and he talked about his anxiety about not feeling worthy."

Bristowe added: "To be out there on that stage in a really big arena and just his vulnerability made him so much more attractive, his emotional intelligence, his openness to talk about anxiety, I thought that was really beautiful."

Newsweek has emailed spokespeople for Bristowe and Eldredge for comment on Monday.

Bristowe also said she appreciates those who carry themselves with confidence and vulnerability as she finds cockiness unattractive.

"And being really insecure is a freaking shame for people because—we're all insecure—but I mean walking around with that heaviness of insecurity," she said. "I think the combination of confidence and vulnerability, being able to walk into a room and be like, 'I've got social anxiety' and say it, do you know what I mean? The two things existing at once, the confidence mixed with vulnerability, I think really makes a person beautiful."

She said she also finds kindness, humor and people who "just want to be of service" beautiful qualities in a person.

Bristowe is no stranger to being open and honest on her podcast as she previously revealed that she and country singer Kane Brown cleared the air years after he appeared on her show.

During a conversation with country star Jordan Davis, Bristowe reflected on her interview with Brown, recalling how he had spoken very little during the episode. The lack of conversation left Bristowe feeling uncertain about how the singer perceived her.

However, any lingering tension between the two was resolved when Bristowe and Brown crossed paths again at the 2024 People's Choice Country Awards in September.

"I actually had a redemption moment with Kane Brown last night because, I don't know how many years ago it was now, probably like six years ago, he came on my podcast and he didn't say a word," Bristowe explained at the time. "I was trying to like, get anything out of him, I'd be like, 'So, this is happening,' and he's like 'Yeah.' I'm like, 'Oh God, oh God.'"

She added: "Then his wife came on, not even that long ago, who I love, and she was like 'Oh my God he still, like, feels bad about that podcast,' and I was like, 'Really?' And so I saw him last night and he's like, 'I don't hate you, I hope you don't think I hate you. And I was like, 'No!'"
