A cleaning expert has hailed a surprising bathroom item that every household will have as the best product to use for banishing unsightly water stains on your shower glass.

Watermarks on shower glass are primarily caused by hard water, which contains high levels of minerals like calcium and magnesium that leave behind deposits when water evaporates.

The end result is the evaporated water creating visible spots or stains on the glass.

Sometimes it’s possible that soap residue can mix with the mineral, which can further contribute to the visible appearance of the water marks.

But you don’t have to look outside of the bathroom for an effective solution to banish unsightly stains.

One cleaning expert has tipped a common grooming product as a nifty solution to those water mark woes.

Greg Shephard, owner of housekeeping company Dallas Maids, recommended using shaving foam to tackle those pesky water marks on your shower glass.

According to NBC, he vouches for the bathroom item as a “great way” to remove stubborn water stains.

To make sure the hack works, you should apply the shaving cream to the area where the water mark is, leave for 15 minutes, and then wipe off.

Shaving foam can also prevent shower screens from fogging up.

According to Home Made Simple, the glycerin in the cream creates a protective coating on glass.

It’s also possible to keep shower glass clean and sparkling by knowing what tools to use.

DFI Solutions explained that hotels use soft cloths to dry the glass after each cleaning session to prevent water spots.

So make sure you’re wiping with a soft cloth to prevent water marks from coming back.
