Bankroll Freddie has been sentenced to 12.5 years in prison on federal gun and drug charges stemming from a 2022 indictment that pegged the rapper as a gang leader, Blavity reports.

On Sunday (Nov. 3), Bankroll Freddie, born Freddie Gladney III, addressed his sentencing on social media, deeming it excessive due to him never being convicted of a crime prior. He also attributed his sentence to law enforcement and prosecutors’ personal vendetta against him for taking his case to trial.

“Ain’t No Way These Folks Gave Me 12 Years &1/2 On Marijuana & A Gun On A First Time Offender,” he wrote in a lengthy post on his Instagram account.

“Never Been In No Trouble … My Guideline Went From 60-78 Months Which is 5-6 &1/2 Years To 9-10 Years Off Bogus Upward Variance… These Prosecutors And Judges Have A Vendetta Against Me In My State For Fighting Them.”

The “Pop It” rapper claims he was vindicated of several charges against him, which he alleges prompted the prosecutors on his case to enhance the remaining charges against him, thus adding additional years to his sentence.

“Every Charge I Beat On My Case They Gave Me Upward Variance … If That’s The Case I Could Of Just Copied The Plea For Less Time Then That Come On Make It Make Sense,” Bankroll Freddie argued. “The Judge & Prosecutors Mad I Went To Trial & Beat 7 Out Of 10 Charges & I Didn’t Bow Down To Them … This Is Cruel & Unusual Punishment I Will Not Go For This Ima Fight For My Life & What’s Right.”

He continued, adding that he plans to appeal his sentence while accusing Arkansas’ judicial system of being prejudiced. “I Got 5 Kids Who Love Me Dearly I’m Not Finna Just Let These Folks Do Just Anything To Me We Finna Stand Up & Fight The System. Its People With Way Worser Charges Then Me Criminal History Terrible & Got Less Time Then Me.

“This Is Personal They Got Some Personal Against Me & This Ain’t Right. We Gotta Stand Up. Racism Is Real Especially In My State Arkansas. Its People Got Less Time For Murder Than I Got For Marijuana. I Can’t Go For That.”

Earlier this year, Bankroll Freddie was convicted of marijuana possession and distribution, possession and distribution of a controlled substance, firearm possession in furtherance of drug trafficking and using “a communications facility” for drug trafficking crimes.

The rapper was initially arrested in 2022 with 34 other alleged members of the Every Body Killas (EBK) gang, which authorities claim he holds a leadership role in. That same year, Bankroll Freddie was pulled over for speeding and was found to be in possession of 21.4 pounds of high-grade marijuana and $33,662, a “ghost” gun, and seven ammunition magazines. Law enforcement also claimed that EBK was conspiring with another gang, Loady Murder Mobb, to distribute drugs during their investigation.

Bankroll Freddie made his debut in 2020 with his album, From Trap to Rap, which includes features from Young Dolph, Lil Yachty, Moneybagg Yo, Lil Baby, Tay Keith, and more. He later released the albums Big Bank and From Trap To Rap 2.

In addition to his 12-year sentence, Bankroll Freddie has been ordered to serve three years supervised probation and to pay a $242,000 money judgement, KARK reported.
