BBC Breakfast host Sally Nugent was left red-faced after she was interrupted by her co-star during the show as she tried to present a "really important" message to viewers.
BBC Breakfast: Sally hands over to Carol for 'important weather forecast'On BBC Breakfast's Tuesday show, Sally Nugent took a moment to introduce an "really important" update from her colleague.
"Carol (Kirkwood) has got a really important weather forecast for us right now because some of you might be opening your curtains this morning and seeing snow. That's right, isn't it Carol? " Sally prompted the show's meteorologist.
Carol Kirkwood confirmed the snowy situation, stating: "Absolutely right Sal, yes. Good morning everyone. The snow isn't everywhere but quite a lot of us are seeing it this morning."
Scots star Carol presented viewers with photographic evidence of the wintry scenes shared by those already witnessing the snowfall.
Places like Nottinghamshire were blanketed with up to 12cm of snow; freezing temperatures gripped numerous locales, dipping to minus nine degrees in parts of Scotland.
Carol also pointed out the swathes of the UK covered by yellow snow and ice warnings, cautioning: "It could lead to some disruption so it's worth checking before you head out," and highlighting the pervasive chill, "Wherever you are today it's going to be cold and it will be even colder in the north."
Co-presenter Jon Kay joined in with a call-out to the audience: "We'd love to see photos if you've got snow where you are this morning."
The broadcast also had its lighter moments – Sally found herself blushing during a discussion about the risqué Denton Calendar Boys. The hosts juggled embarrassment and amusement while touching on the news of these gents disrobing for charity, reports the Express.
The Denton lads are emulating the iconic Calendar Girls, who raised a fortune for blood cancer research, by stripping off for a good cause. The presenters were momentarily lost for words when they introduced the segment.
Sally, struggling to contain her laughter, turned to Carol and remarked: "I'm shocked. I don't really know what to say."
Carol was equally taken aback, prompting Jon to step in and clarify the situation for those watching at home. As he glanced at a photo of one of the calendar's scantily clad men, he commented: "You've heard of Calendar Girls, well this morning we can tell you about the Calendar Boys and that's one of them."
Sally chimed in: "Yes, this has nothing to do with our farming story which is also the lead this morning. A group of men from Norfolk have bared all in hopes of raising money for their local hospitals and our brave reporter Robbie West has been to meet the Denton Dream Boys."
