Rebecca Mason has given up her job of 14 years to focus on her television career, after her romance with BBC Morning Live co-star Rav Wilding was confirmed.
Rebecca, who worked as a fraud detective for over a decade, has decided to focus on her TV career full-time, saying it was a "tough" decision to turn her back on her normal job.
The fraud specialist, who has appeared on Hunted and This Morning, recently ventured into TV work. In 2020, she started to do more work on BBC Morning Live as a talking head.
She has also confirmed her romance with Morning Live co-star Rav Wilding, who presents the show. He had separated from TV producer Jill Morgan last year after more than a decade together.
The Mirror reports amid her new romance, Rebecca has decided to make the huge career change, posting a series of photos from her time with the police on social media.
Rebecca wrote: "After 14 years as a Police Officer and 10 of those serving as a Detective, I’ve made the tough decision to step away from the badge and let my career take a new direction.
"Being a police officer has been one of the most rewarding and meaningful experiences of my life—full of challenges, triumphs, and unforgettable memories.
"But life is too short not to follow your gut and your heart, and right now, I know it’s time for a change and a much-needed break. To my incredible colleagues and everyone who supported me—thank you for everything."

She added: "Here’s to new beginnings and following the path that feels right. Who knows...maybe one day DC Mason will be back." Much like Rebecca, Rav was a soldier and a former police officer who served with the British Transport Police.
He also worked with the Metropolitan Police Service before embarking on a TV career. Rav and Rebecca's romance went public in July when the presenter announced he secretly separated from his wife Jill Morgan.
He confirmed the couple split last year after over 10 years together. He wrote a short message, confirming: "For those asking questions myself and Jill amicably separated last year.
"Our focus is co-parenting our hugely loved and beautiful daughter." Before they married in 2017, Rav was in a relationship with Big Brother star Chantelle Houghton but separated in 2011. It was confirmed Rav had now found love with Surrey detective Rebecca.
They first met as a colleague four years previously. Speaking to The Sun, a source claimed at the time: "They actually first worked together years ago when he was presenting Ill-Gotten Gains and they've got the same agent too.
"The whole team at Morning Live know they're together, especially since Rav and Rebecca went to Michelle Ackerley's hen do a month or so ago."
The duo posted each other on social media as Rebecca shared a video consisting of pictures of her and her friends. Many featured her posing with Rav.
She captioned the video: "Well well well...nearly half way through the year and oh boy...what a crazy half the year it has been. ....bring on the next 6!! I'm so EXCITED!!!" One user asked: "Lovely pics! sooo you and Rav dating?" She responded by liking the comment.
