BBC Strictly Come Dancing fans convinced star will exit as they're 'set up' by bosses

Strictly Come Dancing fans suspect that one celebrity is at risk this week after allegedly being "set up" by the showrunners.

In the latest episode of the BBC show, the stage was set for the contestants to strut their stuff, hoping to secure a spot in the subsequent round following Nick Knowles' departure last Saturday.

The latest performance by Dr Punam Krishan and Gorka Marquez left many spectators almost certain that her journey would end next. There were strong suggestions on Twitter that placing her second in the order, famously dubbed the "death slot", was no coincidence.

One remarked: "punam in the death slot again? oh they want her gone so bad #Strictly."

Another added fuel to the fire, tweeting: "I just said the exact same thing, that's Punam gone this week because they've deliberately put her in the death slot. #Strictly," reports the Mirror.

Further fans chimed in, with sentiments like, "Punam in the death slot... they want her gone #Strictly," and criticisms on the frequency she faced this placement: "Punam in the death slot twice in five weeks isn't nice #Strictly."

One more stated emphatically: "Punam death slot.... They are setting her up #Strictly."

The week has also seen its share of drama away from the dance floor, with an "inside joke" involving Wynne Evans and Katya Jones causing a stir. Evans touched Jones on the waista gesture she did not appreciate but Evans attempted a second time.

The incident was captured on video, went viral soon after, and raised fan concerns over whether Jones felt "uncomfortable" during the interaction.

She later clarified her feelings, insisting she was not at all uncomfortable and explained it as an inside joke. Alongside a social media post, she stated: " I need to make something crystal clear. The hand incident that happened on Saturday night was a very silly inside joke between Wynne and I."

"So even the idea that it made me feel uncomfortable or offended in any way is complete nonsense. It's actually absurd. So let's focus on how brilliantly @wynneevans is doing and what an amazing dancer he's becoming! Happy Sunday everyone! ".

In other news, last week saw Nick Knowles become the fourth celebrity to leave the competition, his journey hampered by injury.

Reflecting on his exit from the show, he expressed his main worry was disappointing Luba. He shared: "I've really, really been surprised by how much I've loved doing it and by two things that happen. One is how much you care each week, and the other is how much you don't want to let down your partner. The only reason I could do this is simply because of Luba's changes, she's been amazing. There are some amazing dancers up there, and I will love watching the rest of the series."

An emotional Luba praised his determination, telling him: "I've never met someone as determined as you, and I remember you saying that if you do your best, you'll be very happy. I think you did more than your best. Thank you."
