BBC Strictly Montell Douglas' emotional two-word verdict as she breaks silence after axe

Montell Douglas broke her silence with an emotional statement following her exit from Strictly Come Dancing during Musicals Week.

The Gladiators star, 38, and her professional partner Johannes Radebe were eliminated from the BBC competition after landing in the bottom two.

Montell and Johannes performed their Rumba to I’m Here from the musical The Color Purple, before Tasha Ghouri and Aljaž Škorjanec danced the Argentine Tango to Ex-Wives from Six.

The judges unanimously decided to save Tasha and Aljaž, making Montell and Johannes the 10th couple to leave the competition. After her exit, Montell posted a snap from her final dance as she reflected on her Strictly journey.

"Strictly unforgettable," she began. "There is so much I want to say, so many people I want to thank, I'm so overwhelmed with how to get it all out."

Montell continued: "My heart is so FULL. When I got the call to go on Strictly I could not believe it. I was supposed to go back to my corporate job from being on sabbatical for Gladiators, the day I went for my first fitting.

"It's probably not surprising to everyone that I had major imposter syndrome going into this. I'm not ashamed to say it. I'm just being honest. I was in a 9-5 and then I was on the biggest show on television about to do something I have ALWAYS dreamt of."

Montell penned a heartfelt tribute to Johannes, adding: "And THEN I got partnered with @johannesradebe. This man. My journey is truly dedicated to you Johannes.

"When I think of our time together the tears come streaming in because it has been an absolute dream and blessing to share the last 3 months with you, you BEAUTIFUL soul. You taught me to walk week one and lit the Fire in me for our Samba week 2 and have never looked back."

Opening up about how her bond with Johannes carried her through the competition, Montell said: "We knew we had a fight on our hands but our connection straight away allowed us to trust and empower each other every step of the way.

"We did things our way, for us, for our people, and maintained our integrity till the very end. I am forever grateful to you for that."

Montell also shared how her time on Strictly has transformed her body, revealing she has lost more than one stone since it began.

"I can finally say, I'm proud. Team MoJo Out," she signed off the post.
