Fans of BBC Strictly Come Dancing have called for one of its presenters to be axed and replaced by "better" rival.

It Takes Two host Fleur East has been impressing audiences so much that they want to see her become a permanent fixture on the spin-off show.

The star was joined by EastEnders actor Jamie Borthwick and his pro dancing partner Michelle Tsiakkis to discuss their recent exit from the show.

The dancing duo were forced to leave the Ballroom after they found themselves in the bottom two on Sunday night.

Despite a passionate dance-off performance, the judges chose to save Pete Wicks and Jowita Przystal, shattering Jamie's dancing dreams just a week before the quarter-final.

The couple joined Fleur to discuss their Strictly journey - but quickly became emotional, Birmingham Live reports.

Jamie stressed that he had built lasting friendships during his time on the show. He said: "I’ve got a great friend in this one, but everyone who works on the show, and all the people don’t see behind the stage. They’re all absolutely brilliant and I’ve made some really good ones and I’m really pleased about that."

The pair were shown a fly-through of their Strictly journey, which prompted Michelle to cry on Jamie’s shoulder while dabbing her eyes with a tissue.

Fleur, who also had tears in her eyes, said: "As an actor, you really know how to put on a show."

A weepy Jamie interjected to ask the host: "are you crying as well?", to which Fleur admitted: "Yeah because you got me emotional! It really did!"

The presenter's heartfelt performance on screen has impressed fans, leading many to call for her to replace Janette Manrara, with whom she alternates daily presenting duties.

Taking to X, formerly called Twitter, one fan wrote: "Fleur is an easier watch than janette marara, get rid of janette and have fleur as the presenter"

Another added: "Say it again fleur is much better on this than Janette #ItTakesTwo." While a third added: "Oh foff, can't we have Fleur all week please?!"

The duo were just one week away from the quarter final

The touching interview did not just jerk tears in the studio, as viewers revealed that the teary look back at Jamie and Michelle's journey was also proving emotional at home.

One wrote: "Watching Michelle cry #ItTakesTwo is making me emotional," with another adding: "Michelle is breaking my heart. What a gorgeous soul." A third commented: "Jamie and Michelle are so sweet. they deserved so much better."
