A new account has revealed that one member of The Beatles once loudly cheated on his wife while she was in the next room.

John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s close friend Elliot Mintz, has revealed in a tell-all book that the rockstar once loudly cheated on his wife during a party.

In We All Shine On: John, Yoko & Me, the writer detailed that Yoko was forced to sit in silence with the rest of the guests while they waited for John to finish.

‘Throughout it all,’ the author wrote. ‘Yoko sat on the sofa, in stunned, mortified silence, as other guests began awkwardly getting up to leave – until they realized that their coats were in the bedroom where John was having sex.’

‘He was placing [his wife] in the most embarrassing position that you could ever place a woman in — having a romp in the hay in another room with thin walls while your wife was attending a small party and could hear everything.’

The author told People: ‘Yoko is a very stoic woman, but it would have severe consequences.’

The author revealed that Yoko told him: ‘I can forgive him, but I don’t know if I can ever forget what happened. I don’t know if it will ever be the same.’

‘The reality is,’ Elliot said, ‘as I would learn over the years in the bad behaviour department, John would say to me, “Ellie,” which is what he called me, “I’m not always the Imagine guy.”‘

John met Yoko in 1966 at an art exhibition, and the two began having an affair, leading to the breakdown of John’s first marriage.

John was married to his first wife, Cynthia Powell from 1962 until they divorced in 1968. The couple had one child together named Julian, who was the inspiration behind the band’s hit song Hey Jude.

John and Yoko married in 1969 and were together for 11 years. The couple suffered from several miscarriages but have one son together named Sean.

During Yoko and John’s relationship, his affairs were highly publicised and it was reported that he had an official mistress that Yoko knew about and encouraged named May Pang.

During Yoko and John’s relationship, the couple collaborated on projects and protests including staging the famous ‘bed-ins’ to end the Vietnam War and promote world peace.

They were married until Lennon was shot dead by Mark Chapman outside his Manhattan apartment in 1980.

Chapman is still in prison for Lennon’s murder and has had more than 10 requests refused for parole since he became eligible in 2000.
