Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner's daughter Violet uses California wildfires to further her facemask cause

Amid the ongoing devastation caused by the wildfires in Los Angeles, Violet Affleck, the 19-year-old daughter of Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck, is once again highlighting the importance of mask-wearing.

As the fires ravage the area, leaving the air quality hazardous, Violet is advocating for face coverings to be used as a protective measure, just as she has done previously in the context of pandemic-related health safety.

Violet, who was recently seen wearing an N-95 mask while being comforted by her father outside his rented property in Brentwood, has been pressuring her family to take precautions against the smoke-filled air.

The wildfires forced Ben Affleck to evacuate his $20 million mansion in Pacific Palisades, as fires have devastated several affluent neighborhoods, including those belonging to celebrities like Paris Hilton, Anthony Hopkins, and Leighton Meester.

Continuing the fight for mask mandates

Violet's stance on mask-wearing goes beyond just the pandemic. Her advocacy has gained renewed focus due to the ongoing fires. A source close to the family shared that Violet has been persistent in encouraging her parents and siblings to wear masks due to the unhealthy air quality.

"Violet is passionate about advocating for mask mandates, especially now, as she believes the fires highlight the importance of masks in protecting against more than just viruses," the insider revealed.

This isn't the first time Violet has pushed for stricter mask mandates. In July 2023, she made headlines when she delivered a heartfelt speech at a Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors meeting, demanding stronger pandemic-era protections.

She called for the continuation of mask mandates in medical and government facilities, and also advocated for high-quality free tests, air filtration systems, and more access to COVID-19 treatments.

Her speech was deeply personal as she shared her own experience of dealing with "post-viral conditions," reinforcing her belief that mask bans, especially in medical settings, should not be allowed.
