It was previously reported that Ben Affleck's divorce from Jennifer Lopez had affected the actor in his personal and professional life, as he had been putting his time and energy into the divorce while still maintaining a good balance with his film projects.
However, it seems like some of his projects are going forward after the split, as the former couple finalized their divorce earlier this month. Most recently, the actor's new project, 'The Accountant 2,' which is a follow-up to the 2016 installment, was added to the list of premieres at South by Southwest.
The upcoming movie starring Ben alongside Jon Bernthal, J.K. Simmons, and Cynthia-Addai Robinson is set to be released in theaters on April 25, and a new trailer has already been shared.
His other project with Matt Damon is also in production. 'RIP' started filming in October 2024 and ended in December of the same year, following reports that it was delayed, in part due to the divorce.
A close source to the pair revealed to Page Six that the divorce affected the schedule of the Netflix project. The insider explained in November 2024 that the production has “slowed” on the new project, and it has to do with the actor's divorce. “With Ben’s divorce and everything going on in his personal life, production on the film has slowed and there’s no release date at the moment.”
“They’re still working on the project, but there’s not a firm deadline with any of it,” the insider continued, adding that this is the main project they have in mind, despite being involved in other productions. “Ben and Matt are working on a few different projects, but their main focus has been on the Netflix crime thriller," the source said.
