Ben Affleck is preparing to celebrate his first Thanksgiving since his divorce from Jennifer Lopez, prioritizing time with his children amid a busy filming schedule.
The 52-year-old actor, currently working on his Netflix crime thriller RIP alongside longtime collaborator Matt Damon, plans to take a break from set to embrace the holiday with his family.
According to a source who spoke to People, Affleck is feeling content with his current circumstances.
"He's very happy with life. He enjoys working. He'll spend Thanksgiving with his kids," the insider shared.
Affleck shares three children-Violet, Seraphina and Samuel -with ex-wife Jennifer Garner. The family resides in Brentwood, Los Angeles, allowing Affleck to remain close while filming. Garner was recently spotted enjoying a lunch outing with the children, highlighting her strong bond with them.
Balancing work and personal life
Affleck has been busy on the set of RIP, a high-stakes crime drama he's producing through Artists Equity, the production company he co-founded with Damon in 2022. The film follows a group of Miami police officers navigating tensions after discovering a stash of millions in cash.
Affleck and Damon were seen filming an intense scene earlier this week, with Affleck sporting a police badge and Damon dressed in a police jacket. Despite the demanding schedule, Affleck remains committed to family time.
This Thanksgiving marks Affleck's first since his split from Lopez. The pair, who rekindled their romance in 2021 and married in 2022, ended their relationship this August, just two years after tying the knot.
Sources previously reported that Garner, who had been a supportive figure during Affleck and Lopez's marriage, now limits her interactions with Lopez to matters concerning their children.
"Jen no longer wishes to have communication with JLo unless it's to do with the kids," a source told DailyMail.com. "Her friends feel she shouldn't have allowed herself to get so involved in helping JLo fix her marriage to Ben."
