15 hours ago 1

Kristian Campbell is one of the top prospects in baseball, but is the Boston Red Sox youngster one of the best prospects ever?

At least one MLB executive apparently believes so.

MLB.com recently polled executives from all 30 teams on a variety of prospect-related topics. One of the prompts was to name the best minor league prospect they'd ever seen -- and Campbell was named on the "also received votes" list.

Here are the top seven vote-getters:

1. Bryce Harper
2. Mike Trout
3. Alex Rodriguez
4. Bobby Whitt Jr.
5. Dylan Bundy
6. Elly De La Cruz
7. Manny Machado

Campbell is among 21 players who also received votes, with Manny Ramirez, Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Clayton Kershaw and Ronald Acuña Jr. among the more notable names on the list.

Campbell currently is the No. 10 overall prospect on MLB.com -- Roman Anthony is third -- which hasn't updated its list for 2025. The infielder/outfielder is the No. 2 prospect behind Anthony on SoxProspects.com.

Anthony, the No. 1 prospect on Baseball America's rankings, was voted as the top overall prospect in the MLB exec poll, while Campbell tied for fifth. They also finished first and fifth, respectively, in the voting for the best-hitting prospects.

Campbell enjoyed a breakout season in 2024, hitting .330 with 20 homers and 24 stolen bases across three levels. Anthony was equally impressive, especially after his midseason promotion to Triple-A when he hit .344 with three homers in 35 games.

Campbell and Anthony both are expected to compete for spots on Boston's opening day roster.
