If you’re running an older HDD for your operating system or for gaming, then switching to an SSD can make a world of difference in terms of performance and experience. This goes for both gaming PCs and gaming laptops since internal SSDs are small enough to fit in either and offer some pretty fast speeds and load times. They can be a bit pricey, though, especially if you want something with a larger amount of storage, which is why we’ve gone out and collected a few of our favorite SSD deals for you below, including some of the best SSDs on the market.

Also, if you’re in the middle of buying a new computer or upgrading an older one, you should also check out these RAM deals and GPU deals as well. If you need something that can swap between multiple devices, you can also check out these external hard drive deals.

Our favorite SSD deal

The Samsung 990 Pro SSD being installed in a PC.Samsung

If you’re looking for something that’s top-of-the-line and won’t break the bank, then the Samsung 990 PRO is probably the way to go. It has the newer PCIe 4.0 standard, which makes it a great PS5 SSD if you can get it a heatsink, and it has a read speed of 7450 Mbps and a write speed of 6900 Mbps, so it’s lightning fast. The 2TB model here has been discounted down to just $170 from the original $250, so you’re saving a pretty solid $80 in the process. There is a 1TB version that’s cheaper if you don’t think you need that much, as well as a 4TB model that’s great for those who have a tendency to hoard data.

Of course, if the Samsung 990 PRO isn’t quite what you’re looking for, there are some other great options you can take advantage of, such as the 980 Pro, which is just one step down and still a pretty good way to go. Of course, there are more budget-friendly options as well if you want to upgrade from an HDD and don’t need the fastest speeds possible. Obviously, the smaller capacity you have, the less it’s going to cost, so if you know you don’t need a lot of storage space, it’s worth going for a smaller size.

Snag an Alienware RTX 4090 laptop with this $600 discount

The Alienware m18 R2 gaming laptop with Baldur's Gate 3 on the screen.

If you're looking to grab a new gaming laptop, then one of the most well-known brands is Alienware, and it's fair to say that it has some of the best you can find on the market. In fact, if you're looking for the best money can buy, it will be hard to beat this configuration of the Alienware m18 R2, which comes with a whopping RTX 4090 mobile. Of course, getting the best of the best is going to be pricey, which is why we're happy to see this deal from Dell that knocks it down to $3,200 from the original $3,800, which is still quite pricey, but the $600 discount is well worth it.

Why you should buy the Alienware m18 R2
This configuration of the Alienware m18 R2 comes with an RTX 4090 mobile, although it is worth mentioning that mobile GPUs tend to be a step down from the desktop versions, so this is closer to the performance of an RTX 4080. Even so, that's still a powerful card, especially since this laptop runs an 18-inch QHD resolution, while the RTX 4080 is close to a 4K GPU, so you'll easily hit 60-80fps with the highest graphical settings on the latest games. Interestingly, the screen can go up to 165Hz refresh rate, so if you want to prioritize that for things like competitive games, you can absolutely do that, too.

Snag this excellent 2K gaming PC for just $1,899

ibuypower RDY Y60 005 gaming desktop

If you're not that inclined to build a PC from scratch, then buying a pre-built gaming PC makes a lot of sense, especially since there are a lot of great deals now that more than make up for anything you would lose for not building it yourself. One great example is the RDY Y60 from iBuyPower, a solid gaming desktop from a boutique maker specializing in interesting builds, and the best part is that it has quite a significant discount on it for a configuration that comes with an RTX 40-series card. Instead of the usual $2,349 the RDY Y60 goes for, you can snag it for just $1,899, which accounts for a solid $450 discount. Also, if you use the code IBP25YR, you can get an extra $50 discount, or up to $300 if you spend up to $3,999 on an iBuyPower PC.

Why you should buy the RDY Y60 gaming desktop
One of the most important parts of any gaming desktop is the GPU, and in this case, you get the excellent RTX 4070 Super, which straddles the line between performance and price. This is actually the perfect 1440p GPU since you're going to be getting between 60-100 fps with ultra settings, depending on the game. You could theoretically push it to 4K if you want to pair it with the latest and best gaming monitors, but you likely won't see more than 55-60fps, at best, and you may need to have to play around with graphical settings.
