The postal service is giving us all something to smile about (and we definitely need that) – USPS has announced they're honoring our beloved Betty White with her own postage stamp, coming our way in 2025.

Last Friday (Nov. 15, 2024), the postal folks announced some exciting news about next year's stamp collection. The designs showcase everything from beloved pop culture icons to stunning snapshots of history and nature's beauty.

Want a peek at Betty's stamp? The preview shows a digital masterpiece by Dale Stephanos, inspired by a 2010 photo taken by Kwaku Alston. The creative mind behind the stamp's final look is USPS art director Greg Breeding.

“An icon of American television, Betty White (1922–2021) shared her wit and warmth with viewers for seven decades — including roles on The Golden Girls and The Mary Tyler Moore Show. The comedic actor, who gained younger generations of fans as she entered her 90s, was also revered as a compassionate advocate for animals,” read a description of the stamp.

The stamp collection's got more star power, with Allen Toussaint getting his own stamp in the Black Heritage series. There's also some cool artwork coming for the Year of the Snake (starting January 29, 2025), plus some Love stamps featuring the iconic Keith Haring's work.

“This early glimpse into our 2025 stamp program demonstrates our commitment to providing a diverse range of subjects and designs for both philatelists and stamp enthusiasts,” Lisa Bobb-Semple, Stamp Services director for USPS, said in the release. “This year, we are continuing several of our popular series and commemorative anniversaries while introducing some exciting new stamps. Additionally, several of our mail-use stamps, which are printed based on demand, will be updated this year. Stay tuned for more announcements in the coming months.”

Just a heads up – this is just a sneak preview of what's coming, with more stamps to be revealed soon. Plus, these designs might get some tweaks before they're final.
