Beyoncé is ‘staying by’ husband Jay-Z’s side after he was accused of drugging and raping a 13-year-old girl in 2000 along with Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs.
The Texas Hold ‘Em hitmaker has put her support behind her husband — who denies the allegations — but is ‘heartbroken’ by the alleged victim’s age.
Jay-Z, real name Shawn Carter, is accused of sexually assaulting her at the MTV Video Music Awards after-party 24 years ago in a lawsuit filed by the unnamed woman’s lawyer, Tony Buzbee.
The judge presiding over the case recently ruled that the accuser’s anonymity would not be waived after Carter’s lawyer, Alex Spiro, filed a motion to do so.
Beyoncé, 43, has not publicly spoken about the allegations and instead has focused on their daughter Blue Ivy’s film debut and her own halftime show performance.
‘She 1,000 percent believes him,’ an insider told The Daily Mail. ‘But it is very stressful to deal with, not only because everything is such in the public eye, but as a mother of a daughter at a similar age to the accuser at the time, it is heartbreaking.’
The insider claimed this situation is harder for the Blackbird singer as the family carefully controls their public image and chooses what to share with the world.
They continued: ‘It is a struggle to deal with and for her to try to think on ways to help the situation is tiring, especially when she can only literally do a certain amount things that may sway public perception.
‘She will be by Jay’s side throughout and she is starting to accept that is all she can really do.’
Beyoncé is reportedly hoping that the case will be over quickly and the family can return to some semblance of normality.
The family put on a united front at the Mufasa premiere earlier this month, with both Carter and Beyoncé saying how ‘proud’ they are of Blue Ivy, 12.
Fans had not expected the rapper to join his wife and eldest daughter on the red carpet in light of allegations but he even spoke to reporters saying he was ‘Very, very proud.’
Meanwhile, his lawyer received a blistering response from New York Judge Analisa Torres over the anonymity motion, which was filed without the necessary pre-motion letter.
She blasted Spiro’s ‘relentless filing of combative motions containing inflammatory language and ad hominem attacks’ as ‘inappropriate’.
The motion was called a ‘waste of judicial resources, and a tactic unlikely to benefit his client.’
Jane Doe sat down for an interview with NBC News in which she detailed her version of events. However, it also highlighted inconsistencies in her story, which she later acknowledged.
She claims when she entered the party she was offered a drink which made her feel ‘woozy, lightheaded and felt [like] she needed to lie down.’
After consuming the drink, she claims Combs and Carter entered the room she was resting in and was told by Combs: ‘You are ready to party.’
Doe alleges Carter then removed her clothes and raped her while an unnamed female celebrity looked on. She claims Combs also raped her while Carter and the female celebrity watched.
Inconsistencies arose as she said she later spoke to Good Charlotte’s Benji Madden — who was not in the city at the time — and was picked up by her father after the alleged assault but he does not recall doing so.
Images from the night Doe claimed she was assaulted show Carter and Combs at an after-party different to the one she had described, however, the music moguls’ exact whereabouts for the whole evening remain unknown.
