Add Bill Clinton to the growing list of Taylor Swift fans.
The former president shared his appreciation for Swift after attending one of her highly anticipated Eras Tour concerts in Toronto over the weekend. During an appearance on Live with Kelly and Mark on Monday, November 25, Clinton confirmed he had attended the show, admitting that he understands why the songstress is so popular.
"I get it now," Bill, 78, said when asked about his experience by host Kelly Ripa. "I understand why she has such an impact on people and why a lot of these young girls are so captivated."
A video of the politician dancing to "You Belong With Me" with his wife, Hilary Clinton, in the VIP stands was also shared with the audience. The 42nd President of the United States went on to praise Swift, 34, for her stamina, noting that the songstress performed for over three hours straight without a break. "She just kept on singing the songs and kept on doing it, which I think is a very respectful thing to do for the audience," he added.
Bill attended the concert with Hillary, their daughter Chelsea, and Chelsea's young daughter, Charlotte, along with some other family members and friends. He expressed his amazement at seeing his granddaughter and others in the crowd, especially when they sang along to every word of Swift's songs. "I was fascinated watching our crowd of kids, especially my granddaughter... and all of them up there singing and they all knew the words to all the songs" heshared.
The former POTUS caught one of Swift's final concerts of the Eras Tour, which started over a year ago in March 2023. As the 14-time Grammy winner prepares for her last shows, she became emotional during her last performance in Toronto on Saturday, November 23 –– presumably the show he was at –– expressing her gratitude to the fans and crew who made the tour possible.
Swift wiped away tears while thanking her crew and crowd for their incredible support. "And to my band and to my crew and everybody who has put so much into this tour... and I don't even know what I'm saying, I'm just having a bit of a moment, sorry," she admitted, wiping her cheeks as she spoke. The "Fortnight" singer joked, "It's not even the last show!" With just three more concerts in Vancouver on December 6 through 8, the emotional farewell to her epic tour is already underway.
