The Toronto Blue Jays are in for a very interesting offseason. While they have been connected to a ton of different free agents or trade pieces, the first priority will likely be extending their two young stars: Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Bo Bichette.
But trade rumors have swirled around Bichette's name especially as of late.
When MLB insider Jon Morosi of MLB Network asked Blue Jays general manager Ross Atkins if Bichette could be traded this offseason, Atkins' answer was simple and to the point.
"Well, the answer to that would be an easy no," Atkins told Morosi in regards to trading Bichette. "He's very much a part of our plans. Very similar to Vlad. He's meant a lot to this organization, this city, and this country."
A lot of these rumors stemmed from the idea the Blue Jays would be looking to trade him before his contract ran up. Some insiders believed they would want to move him while his value was at its highest.
But Atkins doesn't seem to be interested in a deal at all. In fact, this interview alone should put any Bichette trade rumors to bed, at least for the time being.
Obviously, something could change if the Blue Jays aren't competitive in the first half of 2025 and Bichette isn't interested in extending his contract.
But as of now, Atkins seems committed to the idea of bringing Bichette and Guerrero back to Toronto with a World Series title in mind.
