Blue Jays Favored To Sign $100 Million, 44-Home Run Star Outfielder

The Toronto Blue Jays have been one of the most disappointing teams of the offseason. Last winter, they hunted Shohei Ohtani but fell short to the Los Angeles Dodgers. This offseason, they've chased Juan Soto, Max Fried, Corbin Burnes, Teoscar Hernández, and plenty of others and fallen short each time.

The Blue Jays aren't done trying to spend their money yet. Somebody has to take a massive contract to play in Toronto, right?

Kerry Miller of Bleacher Report recently favored the Blue Jays atop the sweepstakes to acquire Baltimore Orioles star outfielder Anthony Santander. Santander is reportedly looking for a nine-figure contract after slugging 44 home runs in 2024.

"Even without the recent reports of Toronto making an official contract offer to Santander, this was beginning to feel like a match made at Tim Hortons, as other would-be suitors kind of fell out of the mix by making other moves," Miller wrote. "The fit is readily apparent.

"Toronto only had one player (Vladimir Guerrero Jr.) hit at least 20 home runs last season while sputtering to one of the worst run totals in the majors. The Blue Jays also have a poorly balanced lineup from a lefty/righty perspective, so Santander's switch-hitting bat would be clutch."

Santander would be a great addition to Toronto's offense. It would bring life to the players and fan base who may question whether the front office is serious about adding the talent it takes to win a World Series.

He would fill a massive hole in the outfield while also providing a middle-of-the-order bat to play alongside Vladimir Guerrero Jr.
