The BRIT Awards have announced their first winner for the 2025 ceremony.
Singer Myles Smith will be taking home the prestigious Rising Star Award, marking the first gong to be awarded as part of next year's show. The annual bash celebrates the best of British music and will take place on March 1 at London's O2 Arena. Myles, 26, follows in the footsteps of Adele, Ellie Goulding and Tom Odell.
He admitted the win has been a "surreal moment". The singer said: "Winning the BRIT award for Rising Star is such a surreal moment. Music has always been about connecting with people, and to see it resonate on this level is incredible. I’m so grateful to my team, my family, and especially the fans who’ve supported me every step of the way.
"Your belief in me means everything. This is just the beginning, and I’m so excited for what’s to come—thank you for being part of this journey." Myles love of music started when he was nine-years-old and was given his first guitar from his mum. The Luton star taught himself how to play the instrument along with the piano.
He began performing as part of his local music scene from the age of 12. In 2020, Myles decided to take his music online and uploaded cover songs to TikTok. He went viral two years later with his version of the Neighbourhood’s ‘Sweater Weather’ and then again with his take on Amber Run’s ‘I Found’.

The 2024 ceremony, hosted by Clara Amfo, Maya Jama and Roman Kemp, saw RAYE break BRITs records by sweeping the board with six awards.
