Britney Spears’ son Jayden James Federline may not have been his mom’s life the way she wanted over the years, with his dad Kevin Federline having sole custody, but it seems like their relationship is having a renaissance. Britney stopped paying child support to Kevin in November 2024 after 17 years of making payments. Amid this transitional period, the 18-year-old as of September, moved back to California from Hawaii. The mother-son duo reunited in November, and on December 21, he showed off his music production skills.
Taking to Instagram, where he has 30.8k followers at the time of this publication, the budding producer shared a sample of one of his beats. The comments are flooded with Britney fans asking him to take care of his mother, remix her music, or pointing out the similarities in the way they look.
A source later told Page Six the 42-year-old is “so proud” of him and “fully supports his music-producing career.” The insider said she believes he has a “bright and successful future ahead of him” in the industry and she “sees so much of herself” in him. “She got started at such a young age, too, and respects his work ethic,” they said.
His sound has an electronic vibe, with the source saying, “Britney loves Jayden’s style and thinks he has such a fresh sound.” While the singer “doesn’t think he needs any advice,” according to the insider, they said she let him know “she’s more than willing to lend a hand or offer any help along the way if he needs or wants it.”
Now that Jayden is 18, it seems like we are going to see him take life into his own hands, including his relationship with his mom. Last week, they celebrated Christmas together, with Britney sharing an emotional video on Instagram. She wrote in the caption, “Best Christmas of my life! I haven’t seen my boys in 2 years!!! Tears of joy and literally in shock every day koo koo crazy so in love and blessed!!!”
In the clip, Jayden said “hello” to her followers before they wished everyone a “Merry Christmas.” After the upload, he followed her on Instagram. A source told Page Six of their reunion, “Jayden is an adult, and Kevin supports if his sons want to pursue a relationship with their mom.”
We’ll have to keep watching how he interacts with the public, and his social media following is only going to keep growing. As Britney’s son, he already has millions of people interested in his life and career, and there will likely be many collaborators eager to work with him to say they’ve worked with him.
