Brittany Mahomes has given birth to her third child! She and her husband, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, welcomed daughter Golden Raye on January 12.
On January 13, Brittany took to Instagram to share the baby’s name and a sneak peek of the newborn. In the black-and-white photo, both Brittany and Patrick placed their hands on Golden’s feet and her wooden name placard appears blurred in the background.
Golden joins her big sister, Sterling, and her brother, Bronze.
It didn’t take long for the love to pour in for the Mahomes family and dozens of fans expressed loving the name “Golden.”
“Love the name! Congratulations,” one person wrote.
“Welcome to the world, Golden girl!! I cant imagine how over the moon your family is that you’re here! Hope you’re recovering well, Britt!!!” another comment read.
“Oh my goodness! Love the name,” a third Instagram user added.
“Aw congratulations mama!! So happy for you and your beautiful family,” a fourth said.
Brittany Mahomes Planned to Have Her Baby During Kansas City’s Bye Week
The Mahomes’ were hoping that their baby would be born around the current football schedule, given that Patrick couldn’t be in two places at once.
“Hopefully God works the right way and we can have that baby maybe on the bye week somewhere, and then everything will work out perfectly,” he said in an interview clip shared by Netflix in December 2024.
As it turned out, that’s exactly what happened. After getting blown out by the Denver Broncos on January 5, Patrick could rest easy knowing that he was back in KC for the birth of his third child.
“No one happier to get back to KC than Patrick Mahomes,” sports reporter Tracy Wolfson wrote on X following the aforementioned loss. “He told me his wife Brittany is due to give birth to their 3rd child on Sunday. If she doesn’t give birth by then she will be induced Monday,” Wolfson added.
The Chiefs will play Texans on Saturday, January 18 — and will have one more fan cheering for a W.
