While Kylie and Kendall Jenner's close relationship with their half-sisters Kim, Khloé, and Kourtney Kardashian is well known, they also have four half-siblings from Caitlyn Jenner. While many of them are out of the spotlight, their older brother Brody Jenner occasionally starred on Keeping Up with the Kardashians, and he developed his own star power and fan base.
Brody, who is 41, recently appeared on The Viall Files podcast in an episode that aired Wednesday, where he opened up about his relationship with his younger half-sisters, Kylie and Kendall.
Their relationship has been somewhat of a mystery. While the half-siblings follow each other on Instagram, they don't really hang out, and there aren't birthday posts dedicated to Brody as the Jenners do for their Kardashian siblings.
Brody explained the distance, saying it's not necessarily a geographical issue. "Kendall and Kylie, those are my little sisters. I rarely get to see them. It's not their fault, it's not my fault, it's not really anybody's fault. It's just, yeah, they don't live that far, but we lived in two different households growing up."
However, Brody made it clear that his love for his siblings is strong, even if they don't have a "call each other everyday" type of relationship. "If Kylie or Kendall call me right now, I would walk out of this room and pick up the phone, and I'd be there for them, and I'd be there for them. I'd leave this [podcast]," he said.
Brody's mother, Linda Thompson, and Kendall and Kylie's mother, Kris Jenner, raised their children separately. The dynamic grew more complex after Caitlyn's transition, which was documented in I Am Cait, and the publication of her tell-all memoir, The Secrets of My Life. These events reportedly caused some tension within the family, per Daily Mail.
Is he cool with the Kardashians?
During the episode, host Nick Viall asked about his relationship with his stepsisters, with Brody responding, "Look, I love them all. I love them all to death, I just don't see them. Kim's busy, Kourtney's busy."
He went on to share that there was a recent family reunion to celebrate Caitlyn’s 75th birthday in October. "I got to see them recently for Caitlyn's birthday. We went over to Kylie's house," he revealed. Unfortunately, Kylie wasn’t present as she was traveling back from New York. "But they're all busy, man. Everybody's busy," he added.
Brody, who recently welcomed his first child with his wife Tia Blanco, said his immediate family is his main priority. "If we do get to see each other once a year, then great. If not this year, it is what it is. They got there, everybody's busy, but we all love each other and we all have a tremendous amount of love for each other."
While Brody appeared on Keeping Up with the Kardashians for several episodes and grew up to some extent with Kim, Kourtney, and Khloé, their relationship always seemed distant once he stopped being on the show. Until recently, he did not follow them, but he does now follow Kim and Kourtney, though they don't follow him back.
Caitlyn Jenner's children
Caitlyn has six biological children from three marriages. Her first wife, Chrystie Crownover, is the mother of Burt Jenner and Cassandra Marino. With her second wife, Linda, Caitlyn welcomed Brandon and Brody, who are very close. Kendall and Kylie are, of course, the daughters of Caitlyn’s third marriage to Kris.
