Brooke Shields, 59, admits she needs ‘lotions and potions,’ a ‘special pillow’ and ‘tequila’ to ‘fully enjoy’ sex

Brooke Shields didn’t hold back when writing her new memoir “Brooke Shields is Not Allowed to Get Old: Thoughts on Aging as a Woman.”

Not only did the “Pretty Baby” star, 59, reveal that sex has become “painful” after menopause, but she confessed to needing “lotions and potions” to enjoy intimacy.

“For me to fully enjoy sex at this point, I need my lotions and potions, the right sleepwear (maybe calling it sleepwear is contributing to the problem),” she wrote.

Shields — who is married to Chris Henchy — also requires her “special pillow” and “maybe a tequila so I can relax.”

Shields struggles with “vaginal dryness” and a “diminishing sex drive,” which has resulted in her seeking extra assistance in the bedroom.

“My doctor told me I should start taking testosterone — sure you might get a few more whiskers, but that’s what tweezers are for — but I haven’t gotten there yet,” Shields wrote.

“For now, I’m counting on the old ‘the more you have it, the more you’ll enjoy it’ approach.”

The “Mother of the Bride” actress recalled having a “fervent sex drive” in her younger years and noted how her relationship with sex has changed as she reaches her 60s.

Shields first had sex at the age of 22 and explained that she “waited that long” because she felt that she had “the weight of the world” on her shoulders.

“And even once we started sleeping together, I never really let loose,” she said of herself and her college boyfriend. “Oh, how I wish I’d just let the lust take over!”

These days, however, Shields will sometimes pretend to be asleep to skip sex with her husband of 23 years.

“And now here I am, more than thirty-five years later, sometimes pretending I’m asleep when I know Chris is in the mood,” she penned in the book. “And that has nothing to do with Chris — he’s hot!”

She blamed her lack of sexual enthusiasm on the “bodily s—t that comes with aging as a woman.”

“Even in the best of times — the thinning hair and the peach fuzz and the brand-new belly fat and vaginal dryness and the diminishing sex drive — and in my natural state I feel less appealing to him than I ever did before,” Shields wrote.

The former child model told her doctor she was “fine” with her lack of interest in sex. However, Shields’ doctor “lectured her” on the importance of physical intimacy in a relationship.

Shields and Henchy, 60, tied the knot in 2001 and went on to welcome two daughters, including Rowan, 21, and Grier, 18.

The proud mother was previously married to tennis player Andre Agassi from 1997 to 1999.
