Bruce Springsteen Praises Jeremy Allen White's Portrayal Of Him In Upcoming Biopic

Although there is no release date set for “Deliver Me From Nowhere,” the upcoming Bruce Springsteen biopic, the film’s subject is already singing the praises of Jeremy Allen White, the actor portraying him in the film.

The man known as “The Boss” seemed impressed with how “The Bear” star is handling the role, he said in an interview he gave Thursday to Sirius XM’s E Street Radio.

The rock legend did admit it was strange “at first” seeing someone else act out scenes from his actual life, but “you get over that pretty quickly,” he said.

Part of the reason, he said, was White himself.

“Jeremy is such a terrific actor that you just fall right into it,” he said. “He’s got an interpretation of me that I think the fans will deeply recognize and he’s just done a great job. I’ve had a lot of fun being on the set when I can get there.”

Like Timothee Chalamet in the current Bob Dylan biopic “A Complete Unknown,” White will be doing his own singing in the film.

So far, Springsteen has no notes for White on that part of the gig, and simply said, “He sings very well.”

White told GQ in August that “it’s been really fun preparing” for the role, and part of that is because of Springsteen.

“I’m also really lucky [that] Bruce is really supportive of the film, and so I’ve had some access to him and he’s just the greatest guy,” White said.

“Deliver Me From Nowhere,” which is tentatively set for release later this year, covers the period of Springsteen’s career when he took a career risk and recorded his “Nebraska” album completely solo on a 4-track recorder.
