Hollywood legend Bruce Willis is currently in a "very stable place,” according to his ex-wife Demi Moore who has reassured fans.
The 69-year-old actor was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia (FTD), a condition that has progressively worsened over time to the point it has led to "challenges with communication".
However, Moore, who was married to Willis for 13 years before they parted ways in 2000, voiced optimism today, the Mirror reports. She said: "Given the givens, he's in a very stable place at the moment."
She emphasised the importance of adapting to the needs of those with the condition: "I've shared this before, but I really mean this so sincerely, it's so important for anybody who's dealing with this to really meet them where they're at, and from that place, there is such loving and joy."
Moore acknowledged the inherent challenges, yet also pointed out the profound positives, stating: "I mean, obviously it's very difficult, and it's not what I would wish upon anyone and there is great loss, but there is also great beauty and gifts that can come out of it."
The Ghost actress, who shares three daughters with Willis, revealed her sentiments in a conversation with British journalist Christiane Amanpour on the US network CNN. Her comments come around 18 months after the family’s initially disclosed Willis' condition.
The acclaimed Die Hard star proceeded to tie the knot with actress Emma Heming Willis in 2009, and they have two daughters, Mabel and Evelyn. Regular updates concerning Willis' health have been forthcoming with confirmation in March 2022 that he had also been diagnosed with aphasia - a language disorder.

More recently, his daughter Rumer divulged that Willis had received a "more specific" diagnosis of FTD which refers to a range of dementia types primarily affecting the frontal and temporal lobes of the brain, crucial for personality, behaviour, language and speech, as outlined by Dementia UK.
After an eminent career with over 100 film credits and bagging a Golden Globe for his role in the '80s US comedy-drama Moonlighting, Bruce's health concerns forced him to retire after four decades of acting.
His family dynamics have evolved since his split from Moore, who went on to marry and subsequently divorce Ashton Kutcher.
Reflecting on maintaining their family bonds post-divorce, Moore, aged 62, stated: "That has been very important to me, even from when Bruce and I separated and divorced, is the recognition that we're a family and we'll always be a family, just in a different form.
"And that form may evolve and change, and there is a way in which we can all be in that form. I'm grateful because it's not just me. It has to require everybody to be coming together, and it's lovely. I'm really so grateful."
