The trailer for the highly anticipated documentary RM: Right People, Wrong Place, that focuses on RM, the leader of K-Pop supergroup BTS, has been released.

The rapper, whose real name is Kim Namjoon, ponders who he is on stage and off in the newly released trailer. A synopsis for the film says it “captures RM’s journey over eight months as he works on his second solo album, Right Place, Wrong Person, reflecting both the continuous challenges of the person he is off the stage (Kim Namjoon) and his genuine commitment to and love for his art.”

The global star offers fans a rare behind-the-scenes look at him in the studio in the trailer. Asking the question, “What does it mean to be a K-Pop star as a 30-year-old?” It was announced last month that the film would be released globally on Dec. 5.

RM: Right People, Wrong Place made its debut at the Busan International Film Festival in the Open Cinema section of the festival. The documentary is produced by Hybe, the parent company to BTS’ label Big Hit Music and is distributed by CJ 4DPLEX, a subsidiary of Korean conglomerate CJ Group.

RM enlisted in Korea’s military late last year. Five out of seven members of BTS are currently serving. RM and his fellow group members were spotted welcoming BTS’ eldest member Jin as he was discharged from his military service earlier this summer. BTS members Jimin and Jungkook recently starred in the newly released Disney+ show Are You Sure?!, which was filmed in 2023 before the singers enlisted. The eight-episode travel series wrapped up in September.

RM: Right People, Wrong Place will be available in 90 countries and regions across the globe, having its premiere in Seoul, South Korea on Dec. 5. Tickets are on sale today (Nov. 6), with secondary global ticket sales scheduled to open on November 20. Information about the film and tickets can be found on its website.
